While i agree somewhat with that, at the same time, you cant deny that all great games (with a few exeptions) of the past 10 ish years, since multiformat games have been possible due to all consoles having a similar disk based media, all the truly great games have been console exclusives, or timed exclusives (Halo : CE, MGS (all 4) GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas, Bioshock etc)
Well to include timed exclusives (Or, in other words, games which were later ported to other consoles) opens up a much broader list. Halo eventually went to PC, the Metal Gear Series, aside from the latest one, all ended up on at least the PC, with the second and possibly the third going to XBox too, the GTA series as a whole has gone from its home format to at least the PC, and Bioshock went to PC.
So in reality, you've only listed one actual exclusive there... And Metal Gear Solid 4 wasn't all that good of a game.
I would say Half Life, but I know that has had PS2 releases, with the others getting 360 and PS3 releases. Timed exclusives shouldn't be counted as exclusives.
Conversely: Fable is quite all around a bad game, despite being originally exclusive to the XBox. Fable 2 had very similar issues.
Not all exclusive games are immediately better than those intended for distribution across multiple consoles. One example, the Orange Box. All three new games on there (Team Fortress 2, Portal and HL2:Ep2 came out on 360 at the same time as the PC version, and the PS3 one I believe was delayed for a short while. All three games were great.
