I'm a reasonable cook, most of of my food tastes pretty good, even if it isn't always exactly what the recipe says it should be.

I make a mean roast dinner though.

I can cook to a degree in that I can mimic cooking
if someone tells me to look in a recipie book and cook something it is nearly always a disaster but if I watch someone else cook I can repeat most of what i've been shown the only fult is i'm lazy and don't feel the need for a varied diet so I don't get much practice in plus i'm very inattentive, once I tried to make something as simple as egg & chips (fries to you yanks) forgot about it and returned half an hour later to find a deep frier full of black sticks and a frying pzn full of ash.

As a side note, I got into a cooking discussion yesterday with some friends (non-gamers) who said they could cook Italian food better than I could. WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!??! We now have a cook off between 3 people in 3 weeks and all of our friends are coming over to taste test. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Theres a pattern in my family.
My nan cant cook at all.
So my mom had to cook ALL her own food and she is a great cook.
Cause my mom is a great cook, I dont need to know how to cook: so I can't.

If anyone else's family has this pattern, let me know.

My greatest culinary acheivement has been Teriyaki Salmon with noodles.
Tasted alright in all fairness.

I'm a pretty good cook, which is good because my wife can't cook at all. My favorite thing to make is lamb cooked in my red wine sauce with sautéed mushrooms.

Hell yeah I can cook.
....whether it is actually edible when I'm done or not though is open for debate;...

I can cook. If following a recipe counts as cooking. I have a hard time remembering which process belongs to which food. The only things i can do without a recipe are bolognese and my carrot cream soup. And of course, like most men, i make very good scrambled eggs.

I'm a pretty good cook, sadly, I cannot afford good ingredients on a regular basis.

Yes, but only things like beans on toast. I'm very careless - I've cooked a metal fork in a microwave before. Therefore, I try not to heat meals, rather get someone else to do it for me.

I can whip up the odd gammon steak or garlic prawns. Working in a pub does have some uses.

Now I've just got to work on my Nigella Lawson style moans of delight.

Ah, Nigella...
If you can perfectly replicate those moans of delight, I applaud you.

As for the cooking, I can cook pretty well, should the need arise.

I can cook, but I can't really make anything intresting up. I mean, last time I did cook, I cooked macaroni, grilled 2 sausages, chopped them upp and threw it all in a pan. Then, I threw stupid amounts of spice on it.

Noone else would eat it, but I enjoyed it.

Oh and I once managed to make a bread catch on fire upon insertion into the oven. How's that for great cooking?

Yeah, I can cook, my latest triumph being pains au chocolat, which I'd never attempted before, was very scared they'd fail, but they didn't, and now my flat mates are nudging me to make more. Irritating really, since it takes about 10 hours (including cooling at rising times), but worth it.

Also, I'll have none of that nonsense about students eating nothing but take-outs and beans on toast. I'm a student, and while I admittedly live with three others who can cook, I haven't eaten baked beans once so far, and take outs happen extremely rarely.

My favorite ingredient is garlic. Almost anything can be made taste better with some garlic.
I'm a big fan of Italian food and I use garlic whenever I can but some people can't stand it...the weirdos...

I'm not bad at cooking, I should really try to do a roast dinner from scratch at some point. Tonight's main course is salmon Tagliatelle in a white sauce and tomorrow it's beef stroganof...

I can cook some dishes, but nothing complex, just things like pasta sauces, pancakes (not the "just add milk" variety, of course), stir-fry, etc. It services my mum and I well enough.

Not really, never really bothered to learn anything more advanced than cooking an egg.
