The Top-Shanka. Wearing an Ushanka (the russian one, for those of you who forgot) on top of a top hat.

(I wonder how many people are just band-wagoning with Yahtzee with all this trilby support. Wait, that can't be right. I mean, Yahtzee fanboyism? On the Escapist? HA! That's a good one.)

That hat got a lot of funny looks at college.

Pssh, easy question. Everyone knows that the sombrero is the clear winner here! It provides plenty of shade, a convenient excuse to take a nap wherever you want, it looks freakin' awesome, and if you throw one on the ground you've just started an impromptu dance party.

Also, there is a galaxy named after sombreros. The Sombrero Galaxy. That alone should qualify the sombrero as the coolest headwear.

For me it is a toss up between the Trilby and the Fez. The Trilby looks like something I would wear regularly but the Fez looks so unique...

The trilby. It works in every situation, and it's perfect for doffing [though not for wringing, and so it retains class and dignity]. I also have a thing for aviator caps. You know, the ones with the fluffy ear-coverings.

I don't know if anybody can see that image because I can. But it's one of those douchey flat brimmed caps. The ones that douchebag 'gangsters' wear. And as of 2008+ the majority of Australia's youth.
