I never saw the point. Something that has the power to swallow me with next to no effort, that doesn't do that, is a friend in my books.
Greybeards were just much cooler than the blades anyway.

I found killing parthunax rather illogical. While i found the philosophy of the greybeards rather moronic, what with the world coming after Alduin eats the current one having the same right to exist.

That's the same Bullshit as the "greater plan" philosophy which warns us away from "playing god" in some areas.
Sure, there are some things we may not want to pursue for our own good.
But we can not violate any rights of existences of whatever comes after us if we wanted to.
Neither can be act against or outside of any "greater plan" because if it existed, we would be part of that plan.
If someone saves the world, that person might as well be part of that greater plan in which this world isn't done yet.

Maybe Parthunax can help me bring some straight jackets to high hrothgar.

I believed the old dragon's story. He had the chance of betraying me, the choice of trusting him could've bitten me in the ass, literally.

I say his millenia long parole is over.

I believe Delphine got a sharp pointy stick in her face after she asked me. I killed the evil dragon. But party Parthy? i left him alone.

I sadly did kill Parthunax the first time, because I was kinda swept up chasing quest markers. Thanks to the inclusion of SkyHavenTempleEnhanced, now I don't need to do that! (I was going to install "The Paarthurnax Dillema" but this mod looks more solid)

Not this time. No. Never again. Paarthurnax risked too much to help me. I'll risk enough to help him.

I actually modded Skyrim to allow the dragonborn to order the blades to forget about Parth and allowed me to continue their storyline, so i guess thats a no :)

Hell no. I wanted there to be a "shut the fuck up" button to end the quest, because no way in hell am I killing possibly the most interesting character in the game.

Fuck no, Paarthurnax was one of my favorite characters. Plus I didn't want to piss off the Greybeards.

Did I kill the only reason that Alduin was defeatable, who has spent enormous amounts of time sitting a mountain teaching people about pacifism and how to scream so loud reality breaks, all to appease a pair of people I don't like and who have an unreasonable obsession with killing him for things that never affected them, who they owe for saving this iteration of reality, all while breaking their oaths to serve me until I play by their rules?

Yeah, Paarthunax lives. And if it really is all some plot to dispose of Alduin and then play nice until I drop dead, too bad I'm an immortal, thank you vampirism. Wish I could have thrown Delphine off a mountain or something. Esbern I actually like a little, so I would have let him off with a rant or something.

The blades are assholes. They literally argue that Paarthurnax is somehow more evil because he betrayed Alduin. Like changing your mind and trying to become a better person is the wrong thing to do.

Let's see, who do I side with... the monks who are teaching me how to use shouts to do badass stuff and an ancient dragon who actually knows about everything that's going on...

Or a dude and a chick who are part of the "Hey, let's get the PC to solve all of our problems and make no meaningful contribution ourselves" brigade.

That was a tough choice, let me tell you.

Nope. I got a mod that lets you tell Delphine and whats-his-face to go die in a fire instead, and they shut up and keep helping you and Parthy lives.

No. I never trusted Delphine something seemed off with her. The Blades were a dead end. No way was I going to get revenge for them.

I killed him after discussing it with him. While one dragon lives others can rise, as the dohvakin can't realisticly be present when every single one is killed.

Also, is it not hypocritical to spare one meerely because he is really, really super sorry for the bad stuff he did when the entirety of his species is kill on sight?

Oh and his helping during the rebelion did gain him the courtesy of talking to him about it first. But not sparing him. He betrayed his own people utterly, and contnues to do so by aiding the dovahkin (A mortal that eats the souls of his own species). I can't trust such a creature.

So his bones now litter the foot of his mountain (really, his death animation took him over the edge, it was awesome).

No, because fuck Delphine. I don't know why the creators apparently had a thing for her, what with her doing tons of badass stuff off screen, and never actually doing anything remotely cool when you're actually around, apparently content with making the one person who can save the fucking world, who her entire secret society practically worships, do all the heavy lifting while she gets to sit back and say she contributed. And then pulling that shit with Paarthurnax? Straw that broke the camel's back.

"Oooh, look at me. I'm part of a secret society of dragon killers. The honor of my people can go fuck itself until what I want to happen happens. Why sure Dragonborn, I will follow you up to the top of the Throat of the World. Why are you inhaling so deepl-"

Isn't the only real reward for killing him the requisite dragon soul and a buff from the blades that doesn't even work?

Because I would never kill him. How could I, he was one of the only characters with a good voice actor.

Hell no. I have a thing for big ol' misunderstood monsters. He was more accepting of humans than humans were of him.
