Since the announcement and poll about the Buffy remake came it, i read the comments and it made me wonder if that many people even liked the original show at all so here I ask you.

Did you/do you like Buffy: The Vampire Slayer?

I enjoyed the show and kept watching after the switch in networks mostly out of habit. My entire family watched it as a kid. There was enough gore and action to keep my brother and I entertained, and I would start to get the more mature/pop culture jokes later on. This forum is a bit young for Buffy, but you'll get a few people who came to it from Firefly and a few older people.

I was definitely influenced by "Buffyspeak", it's pretty crazy how it's affected people talky syntax thing.

While reminiscing about 90's TV, Jordan Catalano.

As a kid, I thought it was a girl's show... So I didn't watch it. Plus, my mom always said it's a lame show. In recent years, I keep seeing grown men saying they watched Buffy and it perplexes me. It's as absurd to me as a guy admitting to playing with Barbies and how he can't wait for the new Barbie movie.

Of course, that's just my misconception.

I enjoyed the writing and the mythos. Both of which came into their own with the show.

It was one of those shows that I never really got to watch and always wanted to, just out of mere curiosity.

I loved the film as a kid, buffy was amazingly hot and it had some dark humour in there. I also enjoyed the first few series of the T.V show but stopped watching after a couple of series.. But wouldn't be the slightest bit interested in the remake.

Didn't care for the movie (in fact, I've never even sat through the entire thing) but I loved the TV show.

Obviously you were tainted by your misconception, it must be torn from your body like the foul heart of a demon. Hell my grandparents watched Buffy while it was playing. It still has a lot of charm and dark humour, although some of the '90s style is fairly atrocious.

Well worth a look if you have the time.

My at-the-moment-favourite author Jim Butcher names it as one of his inspirations for The Dresden Files. I really doubt I would hate it if I watched it now. But there's so much else to watch, so much else to experience that I doubt I ever will. It will be like LARPing... Something that sounds awesome, yet I will never live it.

The movie was good.
The show was better, until she went to college. Then it kind of jumped the shark/crashed and burned.

"Yes I loved the show, but not the movie"

Actually, I thought the movie was 'mediocre', and almost didn't watch the series because of it.

Thank you bored channel surfing for that.

I loved the show, but when Dawn showed up the plot started getting a bit too convoluted I felt.

Angel was pretty good too, took up my early-morning t.v. time along with Charmed.
