Soft drink. I come from a place that uses all interchangeably except "Coke" as a term for a carbonated beverage.

The amount of rage this thread causes me is almost unbearable. I despise the words 'soda' and 'pop' when used to describe any kind of drink. No idea why.

Fucking americans, stop coming up with your own terms dammit! :p

I say soda
my friends say pop

I'm on the west coast
they're all on the east coast, near the south

apparently that has something to do with it

Sometimes it goes by "Cola" or "A Coke" or "Soda". It all depends. Coke is a somewhat universal term that I use instead of Pop or Soda.

Soda. Around here, it's called a "coke" as well, so sometimes I call a soda a "coke." Even if it's not a Coke.
