All I'm saying is that a lot of people have a hard time admitting they were wrong... if someone says that system x is better than system y and the person bought system y, they feel the need to defend their to decision to avoid looking like they exhibited poor judgement.Jedamethis said:

The human race always likes to divide things based on differences, and there will always be people who think that their method of division is better than another. Everyone is trying to have their opinion heard because they feel it needs to be heard.
We don't do things because they are right thing to do; we do things because we don't want the wrong things to happen.
No-one wants to migrate from their favoured platform. So you want to justify your platform to assure yourself you wont have to. You say to the fanboy "I don't want to join you because X", then he says "But X is not true, Y is the way forward." etc etc etc.
You may not think about it on those terms, and you may actually believe that "my platform is the one true platform".
Our platforms for gaming may be different, but the end result, and our ideals are the same. Awesome gaming, and the desire to see gaming get better.

It is the very nature of gaming that everything must be a competition, thus there must always be wars (possibly of flame) and that cannot change.
There's always going to be someone who will disagree with someone else's opinion on a particular thing in the Gaming community, i think it would be incredibly difficult for everyone to "get along" to be honest.

Well, I'm starting to care less and less, to the point where I would normally make a long post here, now I only make a few sentences. And the main problem is that in any PC VS Console debate there is so much misinformation, stereotyping, false preconceptions and malicious fanboying (from both sides) to make any semblance of discussion impossible. And let's not forget that coherent posts usually get ignored in favor of flame bait...
When there is only one video game in existence, available on just 1 console, with only 1 method or strategy of playing said game, then perhaps there will be no hatred among the community. Since that won't happen in any of our lifetimes, no there will be no peace among us.

The fact of the matter is that all of the consoles are overpriced & rather lackluster and the PC is too damn expensive so there's plenty to make fun of in every corner.
Meanwhile the bloated corporations that make these machines are laughing at us all the way to the bank.
So all the flaming fanboys (of every kind) are right and the other fanboys that catch the venom feel the need to defend their own expensive purchase. It's a vicious circle that can be quite amusing if you don't take it too seriously.
I may take some jabs at the 360 but I'm just as critical of the ps3 (moreso of the sony execs and marketing dbags) and I'm positive that both companies just want to soak as much money out of us while using the least ammount of $ & resources.
