Used to back when I was studying for my AP's and Academic Decathalon at the same time. Now I resort to tea because I can control how much caffeine I'm getting. Besides, it's in my ancestry to drink tea.

coffee is the most disgusting thing i have ever put in my mouth. i have a cup of tea every night (or most nights, anyway) but trying to drink one cup of coffee, no matter how much i do or dont put in it, takes me at least half an hour because i feel like i need a chaser after each sip

No, but not for any reason involving caffeine. I consume a lot of coffee-related things, but I find the taste of most coffee a bit too strong, not that I'm incapable of drinking it.

Not on a regular basis.
I really only drink coffee if I need the stimulation, and when I do I usually load it up with sugar and cream because I'm not very fond of the standard taste.

No. I still haven't got over the fact that it tastes NOTHING like how it smells. My family drinks coffee all the time - I grew up smelling those beans of coffee, and I always asked if I could try some when I was a kid, and my parents invariably said "no, not until you're older". When I finally was old enough to make some myself, I was giddy with anticipation - Surely something that smelled that good would taste that good, right? My child brain was still fixated on the idea that something must taste like how it smells.

I spat out the first mouthful of coffee. I was horrified. It tasted NOTHING like how it smelled! Nothing at all! It smelled sweet, but it TASTES BITTER. As a child, it was a betrayal. The Coffee Beans betrayed me. It was personal. I decided that I would never drink coffee again.

Now that I'm a grown up, I have to say that I sort-of-like the taste of coffee, but I still don't drink it regularly since there are tastier drinks out there (like Orange Juice, Coca Cola, hell even plain old Milk tastes better than Coffee).

You do know that coffee cake doesn't actually contain coffee, right? [/pedantic]

Coffee is not poison in and of itself. Large quantities of anything is harmful. Hell, even too much water can kill you.

But to answer your question I drink it occasionally. I also drink several kinds of tea, flat water, seltzer water (without sweeteners), milk, several kinds of fruit juice, beer, wine, and rarely soda.

yes,as black as I can get it. In fact I used to have a shirt that said "I like my coffee with total annihilation". It was a shirt that a Christian Death Metal band put out, but that's another story.

So how about it, do you?
I personally dont drink that "poison" anymore. My system just can't handle it very well.

Yes, poll isn't working some reason, let's just share opinions about the coffee.
You need to edit the post to try and get the poll to work.

One vote for coffee, I've been drinking coffee for nearly 7 years, its great stuff, barely counts as a drug, I prefer it for its taste than its chemical properties, as after so long drinking so much, it is little more than a placeebo for me now.

of course I do.
I don't drink it as often now compared to when i worked as a cafe.
I'm sorry, I can't let this go, having lived in Vancouver, and visiting both Winnepeg and Toronto, these people do not make good coffee, and they pay their employees a criminal criminal $9/hr, pay the premium and go to Starbucks I say, they know how to make 'real' ground coffee.

But if you want sweets, Tim Hortons do make an excellent French Vanilla (and get a Canadian Maple too, that's decadent).

No. Never liked the taste. No matter how much sugar and cream I add it still has that bitter taste.

Like the smell, though.

Nope. Tastes like garbage (literally, garbage always smells like coffee) and it's habit forming. I try to avoid caffeinated products to wake me up in the morning, and when I do use them, I try to make sure that it's something that at least tastes good. It's a snack. Treat it like one.

Yes, I drink a full pot of coffee each day. My preference is the Extra-Bold Sumatran blend from Starbucks, though when I go home for the holidays my dad makes me coffee from scratch. (Roasts and grinds the beans, water heated to 216 degrees, and so on.) We're pretty serious about coffee in my household. There's also a pretty swanky coffee place downtown that has hella-good Ethiopian blends. Make a mean Mocha, too.

When I'm at work I usually have an Americano (double espresso shots) in the morning and then a couple of dark roast coffees in the afternoon.

Also, I don't put cream or sugar or anything in my coffee. I like it as strong as possible, so best not to dilute it. I wouldn't exactly call myself an "addict". I prefer to call it a "Coffee dependency." I'm definitely at that point that, if I don't get my coffee, I shuffle around all day thinking I've been poisoned. And then the headaches set in... Even if you start drinking coffee again, the headaches linger for days to punish you. They want to make sure you never forget to take your medicine again.

Bonus Rant: One thing's for sure - I don't drink that Tim Hortons crap. Any time I do, I feel painfully sick the rest of the day. I'm all for Canadian pride and whatnot, but dear god! Anybody who claims to like coffee and then drinks that crap clearly doesn't know what real coffee tastes like. I've vomited up better-tasting things than that brown watery diarrhoea they claim is coffee.
