NO!!!

It's evil, I say. It smells so sweet and delicious and then you taste it and its bitter crap. I would drink coffee if it tasted the way it smells....

A year back my father forced me to try it.

I spat it in his face. He laughed. He said, "Taste bad?"

So how about it, do you?
I personally dont drink that "poison" anymore. My system just can't handle it very well.

Yes, poll isn't working some reason, let's just share opinions about the coffee.
Only every once and a while. I commonly do on saturdays during band rehearsal, but only as a social thing.

I get edgy and dick-headed from it, so I try to drink it when I know I won't have anything to be upset about.

Tea is much better for my morning drink. It has less caffeine and I don't feel like I just ate a sundae.

You do know that coffee cake doesn't actually contain coffee, right? [/pedantic]
Uh, I've always made coffee cake with coffee. So has everyone I know. It's only like half a cup or what have you, but it's still coffee. What kind of coffee cake have you been eating? o_O

Yeah, I have it pretty regularly. I haven't had it much lately, however, due to an absence of cream/milk in my house and I can't quite take it black unless I brew it very mildly.

I do not drink coffee. I am a tea person myself.

However, I can see a benefit to drinking coffee sparingly. The few times I could drink coffee, its bitter taste would significantly wake me up. So I might try it during a morning where I don't give a damn, but those are few and far between. I'm already a late night / early morning person.

I work for Starbucks. Take a wild guess.

Personally, I love a good mocha. Quad shot, soy milk, extra whipped cream.
I'm going to go with no. After working at a fish and chips place for 6 months I could barely stand fried food.

OT: Yup. I was worried that I might be addicted (over-reaction, but I've never been addicted so I didn't know if I'd know if I was) so I quit caffeine for a few months over summer. I normally average about 3-4 cups of coffee/tea/hot chocolate a week when I'm at uni, and about 1-2 a week when I'm not.

If you mean coffee-flavored cake, then I'm mistaken. But I eat coffeecake, which is cake intended to be eaten with coffee. Go to any store and buy a coffeecake, and I guarantee that 95% will not actually have any coffee in them.

:p I've been with the company for 3 years, and I still love my espresso every day. Probably just addicted at this point.

Like an apple teacake? There isn't actually any tea in it, but rather it is an apple cake that is meant to be eaten with tea?

EDIT: I've been having coffee since I was about 8. My nan used to make me really weak and/or decaf coffees after school (when I asked, because I liked the taste), and between late night football games (in winter, so coffee is always good), something to drink with delicious coffee-shop cakes, and hot drinks on cold winter mornings, I've been drinking coffee regularly my entire life.

Yes, I drink coffee, always black without even a touch of sugar. It's much better for you than corn juice + caffeine. My favorite preparation is using an ibriq, mostly because it suits a light roast pretty well. I'm content with most good roasts, but I definitely prefer coffee just a little past first crack. Before you decide to hate coffee, you should try good coffee first. Just don't judge it based on the sludge you can buy at Starbucks and McDonalds.

I hate coffee.

Seriously, I despise the taste of it. I have tried, many times, to develop a taste for coffee and it doesn't work. It's the aftertaste really. That bitter aftertaste that sits on the back of the tongue. Can't stand it. Even the sweetest Frappechino with whipped cream still has that aftertaste and it makes me cringe.

I absolutely love hot tea though. I don't understand the American fixations on hot coffee and iced tea, as I can't stand either one.

Oh, and I am an American by the way, as hard as that may be to believe from what I wrote above.

I also love British style fish and chips, I believe that soccer is the real football and American football is boring, and I think Americans need to stop acting like they are the be-all and end-all of the modern world.

And now nobody believes me when I say that I am, in fact, an American. I just happen to be a hardcore europhile.

Ah, then I apologise. It's probably my brain's translation software that's faulty =/ In Sweden coffee-flavoured cake is called "kaffekaka" which translates into English as "coffee cake". My sibs and I have always said coffee cake when speaking English, but I can't remember if my (Irish) mother did so.

Thank you for teaching me something new =D
