It wasn't exactly bad, but doesn't deserve the heaps of praise it gets. Oh, and at last I have an excuse to post this video:

Makes you wonder how a Nuke can be "Tactical".

I'm actually really annoyed by the hacking and glitching but i'm not going to let an otherwise fine game go to waste.

P.S. I hate burst fire weapons with stopping power where is the option for over powered weapons?

I played the the free Multiplayer weekend on Steam a few weeks back.

Everything bad everyone ever said about the PC version is true.

Past that, I found a fair number of the perks and attachments to be far better than others and that the killstreaks are absolutely destructive to Deathmatch modes.

Naturally. I'm one of those people who usually has a hard time getting into FPSes without a mouse (despite the dozens of hours I spent playing Goldeneye back in the day), even if the game's otherwise good, probably mostly because I've been doing it that way for so long (I even remember playing some stuff way back entirely with the keyboard without/before mouselook, heh...which you'd think would make it easier to get along with dual analog sticks, but I guess not for me). That, and they actually keep updating the PC version, along with there being tons of community maps and mods and stuff, so it stays interesting, unlike the poor, neglected console versions of it.

Plot was retarded, single player was to short but had it's moments, online sucks because the people playing are all about 12, local multiplayer is fine, defently not worth $60 on computer.

I haven't played it but I played MW1 and I found it to be a bit bland. Don't get me wrong, I didn't think it was a bad game, it just wasn't amazing either.

I only play it on my friend's 360 since I've heard so much bad stuff about the PC version, so I can't judge on that. But from the console version I think that the split-screen multiplayer is fun, particularly since you can set your own rules ("who wants a throwing-knife only match on wasteland?"). It's an alright game, not deserving of all the hype it gets though.

As for the single-player campaign: what a load of convoluted garbage. When Makarov kills you in the airport, great - a complete shock and I loved it. Finding Captain Price in the gulag...well, that's okay I guess. However, from his launching of the EMP onwards I just gave up on the story entirely. Killing off Roach was dull, obvious and completely ruined any pretense of a working storyline, and after that I didn't actually care if the 'good guys' won or not. In the first Modern Warfare you genuinely care when your character dies. Unfortunately, in the second one it just didn't matter.

What they needed was less double-crosses and a longer campaign. Maybe take some lessons from the original Operation Flashpoint as well, which I still see as the benchmark for this kind of attempt at 'realism'. Call me old-fashioned but I like to have an enjoyable single player experience and I generally judge a game based on that rather than multiplayer. So the game was alright, but I'd still much rather play the original Call of Duty on the PC any day of the week.

I quite enjoy playing co-op spec ops with a friend, but as for the rest of the game it gets an overwhelming 'meh'.

Terrible excuse for a game. Pretty much proved that sheep will buy anything so long as you stick a brand tag on it.

It was good at the start. I actually enjoyed the online, until it gradually deteriorated. Now, I tend to play it locally, if ever. And it was my first CoD game so that leaves my opinion somewhat unbiased.

I freaking love it. Best FPS since Perfect Dark. Single Player is fun and exciting and I'm not bothered by the wacko story, if people wanted a good story they should go read a book instead, I bought this game for entertainment. Spec ops offers a good bunch of challenges which I come back to now and again. Multiplayer is a heck of a blast which uses a good mix of skill and mind games which I thoroughly enjoy.

People on here will ***** about it with the most petty and silly complaints but I tend to ignore or laugh at them.

I can't stand the game anymore. The only reason I play is because its the ONLY game my friends play.

Most of the games problems stem from the players. I'm sick of playing against the same person over and over, only with a different name. By that I mean, everyone uses the same weapons and perks and everyone goes to the same spots over and over. Scar, UMP45, Barret(always thermal sight), akimbo shotguns(because in real life, you'd be able to fire both at once without dislocating your shoulders. Oh yeah, then don't shoulder them in-game. They free aim them.). That's all it ever is. Why? Because they have the highest "power".
Sound like me before I went hardcore^^
Hardcore: Akimbo sucks - Only noobs run without cold blooded - Fewer children
-Samurai- said:
Lets face it, the game is newb friendly. I don't mean "noob", I mean people new to FPS in general. The series was severely dumbed down for this game. No recoil in weapons, high explosive area, ridiculous and unrealistic perk system.
No recoil? Maybe you dont, but i feel the recoil heavyly, and therefore often use silencer, as it reduces the recoil slightly.
-Samurai- said:
Honestly, I'd like to gut that guy that decided there should be a perk that allows you to slide 20 feet to stab someone. Yet, without that perk, you can have your hand in your opponents back pocket and not be able to stab them. Not since this game would anyone even think of pressing their knife button at these distances.
Hardcore - No knifing!
-Samurai- said:
The game is unrealistic, which is sad. IW said they weren't putting in a zombie mode because they wanted to keep the game realistic(and they were planning the disaster* that is Spec-Ops), yet with a commando pro, not only can you slide 20 feet to stab someone, but you could jump off the Empire State building and not take damage.
There IS falldmg... But otherwise i agree :p
-Samurai- said:
*Spec-Ops online is a wreck. Split-screen, its great. However, I've experienced nothing but lag online, including trying to play with another console in the next room over(we wanted our own screens). I've also read about horrible lag, no matter your connection type or speed.
PC ;)

No dedicated servers? Yeah, because I like being kicked due to host migration failure. Some poor fella can't take a beating, so they leave and ruin the game for everyone else.
Some like it, most hate it. I like not being kicked for camping ^^
-Samurai- said:
MW2 fun fact: Killstreaks don't continue after host migration. If you're 24-0 and looking for that last kill for a nuke, it isn't happening after host migration.
Did you know that a pigs orgasm last for 30 minuttes?
-Samurai- said:
The game punishes good players that are on a team with people that aren't doing so well(Note: Not bad players. Everyone has a bad game every now and then). Killstreaks. Once the other team starts racking them up, its game over for you. Even if you're 30-5.
Agree, but what teambased game does not?
-Samurai- said:
Horrible spawns. How many times have you killed someone, only to have them respawn directly behind you? Happens to me all the time. How many times have you been killed just to respawn in front of the guy that just killed you, and he gets you again in the same clip? Happens to me all the time. Don't even get me started on spawning me under predator missiles, enemy grenades, or claymores.
*shudder* Even hardcore cant save you here...

What I am trying to say: Go hardcore!.. Aaaand possible PC^^

Happy gaming!

I don't hate it, although I don't like it. First-Person Shooters aren't my type of game, but I gave it a try anyway because all my friends were raving about it, and I didn't really enjoy it. I don't suppose there was any technical or specific reason why I didn't enjoy it, it just wasn't really my thing, so I turned it off, turned it in and went back to Final Fantasy.

It's fun enough for me, and that's all that matters. Sure there is a bunch of morons on it, like there is on EVERYTHING. Sure balancing issues are here, llike there is on Halo, Gears, Bad Company 2. Sure Lag affects it, just like on Gears 2. Sure the story was nonsenseical (think I spelt it right...) Just like almost every other game out there...

I could go on. The point is Modern Warfare 2 is picked on because it didn't meet the standards of original. Sorry, but two years to make a game of the same cailber ain't enough. Half the issues are seen in other games, and worse but they aren't hated because I'm guessing it isn't "cool" to hate them. The only unique issue I have with it is the M16, but nothing can be done about that. And the PC faults? Not my problem, Shouldn't have brought the game, if your that bothered by it. I enjoyed the game. I still do. And that is that.

I really enjoyed it, and still enjoy it if I'm in the right mood. Although it does depend on which gameplay mode I'm on.

The single player, as utterly ridiculous as the plot was, was still fun though a little easy (even on Veteran). As has already been said, it's just a shame it's so damn short.
The Spec Ops mode cannot be enjoyed in single player (that's what the campaign is for). I love this mode if I'm playing it on splitscreen... much more than playing multiplayer.
Ah, the mulitplayer; horribly unbalanced weapons, campers, boosters, killstreak rewards that last too long. Yet, despite this, it's still very addictive, if frustrating at times. I found it much easier to play than CoD 4's multiplayer.
Sure it has its problems, but which game doesn't?

But the best-selling game of all time? It must be doing something right...

I liked the single-player. It was a zany James Bond-meets-Tom Clancy rollercoaster ride with solid gameplay and varied setpieces and all that. As long as you go into the plot knowing it's going to go nuts after a while, it's more entertaining and humorous when everything stops making sense, and you can just enjoy the over-the-top craziness of the individual levels.
The multiplayer, however, I refuse to touch with a ten-foot pole. I watched my friend play some of it and it looks like an absolute nightmare, filled with seemingly random mechanics, ridiculous exploits, and a community of shouting, sneering assholes, all held together by a ruthlessly addictive progression system.

I don't HATE MW2.
I'm just terribly disappointed with it. How did they take the perfect game (CoD:4) and turned into unstable, bugged pile of stinking crap? I don't know. But I know I will never return to multiplayer of the PC version since it's now mainly populated with bots and hackers AND it has became terribly unstable after the latest "mini-patch". I don't even want to mention the balance issues in the game. Last one was little unbalanced but overall ok.
This one... it's like noone even test it Oo.
Seriously 5 minutes of testing would show that G18 are fucking overpowered!

So anyway fuck you CoD I'm going to play a good game now! Battlefield: Bad Company 2 because it is in fact PLAYABLE! Oh and it has dedicated servers biach!
