When I first heard of the DSi I was excited. Then I found out they removed backwards compatibility with GBA games and I got a little less excited. I still play those games quite frequently, the fact that the DS Lite supports those is one of the reasons I bought it.
Even though DSi and it's slightly newer incarnation, the DSi XL have a couple of features I'm quite interested in, the fact that I'll need 2 DS's to enjoy my games keeps me from buying one.
It's my guess that there are more people besides me who haven't bought the latest Nintendo goodies because it meant they needed a different system to rock out on Pokemon Ruby or whatever, and I see a way for Nintendo to fix this.
DSiWare.
Like the Wii, the DSi has an online shop where smaller games can be purchased for a small fee. It likely that the DSi will one day also get a Virtual Console of its own, where old GBA and maybe even GameBoy Color games can be purchased. This still wouldn't convince me to buy the damn thing though. But if they could get a system in place where you can get games you already own on a cartridge for free, I would run to the nearest games store, give them my PIN number and hug my brand new DSi all the way home. (or just hold hands, depends on the mood)
So, the question I pose is this: Would you like to see something like this implemented? Do you see other improvements for the big N's double screen line of products? I'd like to what you guys can come up with.
