30 years old and still no idea what I want to do with my life.

I've only managed to eliminate things that I thought I might find interesting. (Computer programming is too boring, physical labor is out, I have a passion for finance but failed the courses to get the degree needed to find work)

I've conceded to the fact that I will likely never find a job that truly suits me and am content to find something that is merely sufficient to support my lifestyle. Which is the case with my current position.

23, A few weeks away from getting my bachelor's in history and don't have a clue.
Haha, I'm in the same boat. I'm close to getting my BA in history also and I'm not really sure what I'm going to do. I figure with a history degree, options are sort of limited to teaching, museum work, and maybe archaeology although you would need to go another 2 years for a masters. I don't know if I can see myself doing any of those... so I'm gonna stick with playing video games for now XD

19, I currently have an interest in writing. I may attempt to become a reviewer/critic. Although I'm still keeping my options open for now.

Unfortunately I don't have that same luxury. After I graduate I need to find a full time job doing something or face moving back in with my folks which is my last resort because the last thing they'll let me do is play videogames, especially after paying for my four years out of pocket.

I have absolutely no idea and I'm in my last year of high school! I've thought about a police officer, fire fighter, vet, aquatic engineer, psychiatrist, teacher and a novelist but I can't decide.

I am 20 and have wanted to be a video game designer all my life. I thought I'd learn once I got to college, but now that I'm here I almost feel like it is too late. There are other people that know far more than me because, basically, I don't know anything. Without any prior knowledge of what it is really like, I cannot for the life of me take the risk of what I believe to be something I will fail at, or realize in the end that it isn't what I dreamed it to be. I'm currently trying to put the dream to rest, get a degree in radiation technology and come back for a masters in business management to attempt to be a manager at a hospital.
I find it hard to not decide what your going to do until last minute, I'm out of electives and required courses, so my next 3 years all have to stick to my major or else I'm wasting time and money.

I'm 20. I'll (hopefully) graduate this fall with a computer information science degree and then wanting to go into either web design or programming (or game design, but don't see that happening because of how hard it is to get a job in it). That's about it though. Dunno where I'll live (sure as hell do not want to stay in the bible belt), or anything else. Never been in a relationship either. But, in the meantime, I still get good laughs from all the people that say "well, I like playing video games, so I'm going to make them for a living" when they have no clue how frustratingly hard it actually is.
Can you share for 2 seconds on what it really means to try to get that job, so that I can try to move on?
I'm not positive on getting the actual job, but doing all the stuff, well, depends on which route you go. Graphic design probably would be as bad, I'm not sure there either, but programming is where it gets people. Programming requires very logical thinking and a lot of problem solving. A poor excuse for a game I was making, that was only a few buttons on a window with a rpg style battle system, saving a character and loading it, no graphics or anything: 1156 lines of code.

Another way to look at it, my college actually teaches how to program, and not the theory behind it, like other colleges around here do. The intro programming class has maybe 216ish people in it, and in the final class you have to take, there are only 11 of us left. Like I said, I'm not sure with the graphic end of it, but all through my intro programming classes I saw people that would say they were going to make games for a living, then they couldn't even write a program that counted from 1 to 10 and displayed every number.

Well I'm working on my honours thesis, which when completed will get me a place in a PhD program that will allow me to pursue a career in pharmaceutical research.

For now I am working part time in a computational chemistry lab, have 3 (soon-to-be-published) papers in the wings and also assist as a demonstrator for first year chemistry students.

I want to be a party clown.

I'm 24½ years old. I have no grades nor money.
All I know is that I want to live my life as I chose, not as society tells me to.
Oh, and some other stuff involving learning how to wield a multitude of melee weapons.
Don't be so selfish.

Go out and get a job doing 50+ hours a week, settle into the routine and stay productive until you croak. That's what life is all about, and oddly what some of my friends aspire to.

OT: I've never had a plan, my nature won't allow for it. I'm pretty happy just coasting through life, so it's all good.

Go ahead, plan for your future. It just makes it doubly funny when life kicks you in the gut.
Maybe for you. I know what my options are, I just haven't chosen my path yet. and for life kicking me in the gut and screwing up my plans? I'll kick back twice as hard then punch it in the face!

I have no effing clue what I'm going to do with my life and what the future holds for me.

At first, since first class in school I was led to a path which went array at the end of high school due to no money to fund the college and now I am 23(finished High school at 19)and got no idea what to do.
