Poll: Do you REALLY cry over Games,TV shows?

Only if I get really invested and it's a well written hard hit. Anime wise I had the end of Anohana (at least I think I did, hard to remember) and naturally Clannad and it's infamous sunflower field/train scene.

Game wise though, not really closest I got was the end Brothers: A Tale of Two

The last piece of fiction that I remember made me cry was Toy Story 3. Since then there have been a few others that (almost) made me cry aswell, but I can't remember them.

Apparently, I do especially if it hits too close to home like Toy Story 3, but for the most part I mainly just get super sad, followed by me clutching my Rainbow Dash plushie backpack until I self-cheer myself up...

Maybe I'll be lambasted as some sort of hipster but I fucking loved Valiant Hearts and that shit made me weep like a wee baby. And Chibi Robo is an emotional roller-coaster. As for TV, Doctor Who has made me cry a few times. I'm sure there's more, but I'm off to bed.

Angel Beats!- If you've seen it, you know what I'm talking about. If not? I won't spoil it.
One Piece- On scenes I haven't even reached yet.
Naruto- Scenes from a show I haven't even started watching.
Toradora- An argument the MC has with his mother.
Code Geass- The ending hits me hard.

Video Games

The Walking Dead: Season One- Two scenes hit me, again if you've played it you know them.
Mass Effect 3- The ending always gets to me. Reminding me a story I love has finally come to an end.

Movies

A bunch.

My biggest weak points are family related arguments/death/etc. They are always my weak point. Turns out I cried at the wrong scene of Toradora. Every anime besides Angel Beats! up there has made my cry because of family issues.

Occasionally. Always when characters display traits I admire or take the final step into heroic self-realization.

Good example is Wreck-It Ralph. I'm a lot like Ralph. I don't care for my job all that much, feel unappreciated, like life is an endless succession of identical no-win scenarios, like I've somehow been unfairly labeled a villain in my own story, that there should be something more to life, to me, to whatever. Ralph is asked to say the line, "There's no one I'd rather be than me," early on and can't bring himself to do it. His journey through selfishness and dissatisfaction ends in heroic self-sacrifice where he says the line and really means it. That got to me because I've always wanted a moment like that, not necessarily one where I threw myself to death but a moment where life makes sense and I feel like something other than a loser.

That's hard to hear man. I felt the same way for a while. I was unemployed and getting a job led to some significant improvement in my self-worth and appreciation.

Remember, everyone has their place. Perhaps you haven't found your place yet. Perhaps you have, and you simply haven't realized why it is your place. Above all just keep trying. Perseverance is the key to success and happiness.

I've teared up a few times on the second viewings of certain moments. More often tender/touching ones than sad ones - the bit in the Doctor Who episode "The Wedding of River Song" where River says something along the lines of "that's a universe full of people saying, 'Of course we'll help'" is the one that first comes to mind. So I guess I cry a bit at nostalgia? That's about the extent of it, though.

Schindler list (Last 10 Mins)

Absolutely perfect. Schindler's List is a masterpiece of cinema. Liam Neeson performs at his best, Itzhak Perlman plays the haunting violin melodies, Ralph Fiennes makes you so furious and upset you'd think (in relation to his acting in Schindler's List) Voldemort is a joke, and Steven Spielberg directs a story so vivid it is burned into your being. The movie makes me cry in many locations but that final scene when Schindler just loses it on his knees. I didn't even know I had that much liquid in my body that could come out of my eyes. The credits were also touching and reminded me that this movie isn't fantasy (though still slightly Hollywood-ized).

Only other moment I can remember off the top of my head as to make an impression: Theoden's arrival to relieve Minas Tirith in the third Lord of the Rings movie.

The earlier scenes of the movie showcase the undertaking: helping a neighbor that never helped you in your most dire need, just because you and they are men standing against a common foe. They rode through the night with no time to take proper provisions to restore morale or replenish their strength. They understood the enemy host was much, much larger than their mustered strength and still rode to death. They arrive at dawn, to the chilling sound of their undertaking, a sound that filled Minas Tirith with hope and affirmed their dread. Then Theoden gives his men their orders and a masterful speech.

I just love the impression of weary horses and their riders coming over a hill and witnessing, in horror, the massive host of their enemy and the flames in Minas Tirith. These men who left their own fields, farms, wives, and children after an already costly war, immediately set upon another one that they understood would claim their lives. And they pressed on.

I teared up, but never actually cried. I've cried at things in real-life, so I'm not stonehearted, but while art of all kinds can deeply move me, I only get so far as tearing up a bit.

All the time. Im a horribly emotional person so anythin remotely sad has me at the very least well up, even if its not a very emotionally impactful scene.

Heck, during Futurama's Game of Tones episode I ended up breakin down, tears, weird breathin, the works at this scene.


Oh god, I watched it and now I'm crying again and my SO is lookin at me funny.

Oh my god. I skipped the last couple seasons of Futurama but holy crap. I never would have expected a 1:45 clip to make me cry that much.

But yeah, I'm like you. It really doesn't take much to make me cry. Nier, during the second playthrough, is the game that definitely hit me the hardest

To be honest, I hade to vote yes. It's not a common thing, but I have cried for a book a couple of times. The ending of Kurtz' The Bishop's Heir. Yes, I almost cry every time I've even re-read that. TV, well the ending of Jurassic Bark got to me. Until the retcon, they pretty much salted the earth on the emotional impact that episode had. The first time I was going through it, Trigun. It wasn't THAT scene, but rather one a little later showing one of the characters reactions to THAT scene... seeing her that devestated. Ow. Also maybe M*A*S*H, episode Dreams. Loretta Switt in the bloody wedding dress or Hawkeye waking up screaming and that look when he hears the choppers and realizes he's waking up TO his worst nightmare. Again, Ow. Oh one more, Carnivale: Pick a Number. The look on Sampson's face when he sees the ghost in the window...

Can't think of a movie that made me cry. Or a video game. Emotional moments in some games have caused me to go into what one of my friends called an "epic spree." Finding out who the traitor was in Wing Commander 3 turned me into death itself for the rest of the mission. Getting betrayed in GTA:VC, I went into a pretty messy killing spree for a few missions. In New Vegas, Nipton always sends me into a Legion Kill Frenzy for a while. I've even perfected how to take out that group of legion guys as they're leaving town, even at pretty low level. Just like I did the first time I played it. Killing that group and then tracking down the prisoners and freeing them and killing more legion guys, just because I was pissed off. I only had a couple of badly working guns left and almost no health or ammo left when I limped into Novac, but it felt good.

No, not really. Maybe its because I know they're only actors in TV shows, and that the game isn't real, but nothing gets to me. Fake people going through fake problems don't elicit real emotions from me.

Always hear people talking about how they cried over stuff but me personally I never really cry over anything.... Honest and believe me I have seen the stuff that people consider they ball their eyes out over Example Walking dead, Clannad etc. Inside I basically feel like "Well that's sad" I never really feel the need to cry. What about you? do you actually cry over games/TV shows?

Yep, on multiple occasions in both games and movies/tv. A brief list of things that made me cry to some degree or other, either tears of joy or sadness. I can't say I've ever been blubbering and lip flapping crying, but I've definitely had tears running down my face that I had to wipe away to see.

List:

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysey : The good ending, the imagery of how the other mudoken band together to save their saviour, and then cheer when he is rescued and returned to them, love it.

Samurai Jack: Season 1, Episode 10: Jacks vs the Lava Monster: The motivation of the Lava Monster, and what his plan was, and how he kept defiant to the end. How in his defeat, he truly won, and shouted his victory and defiance at Aku. His building roar as he changed back to his true form, and then how his faith was upheld in the end, giving him his rest. Just...fucking...amazing. The voice actor that did his performance was fucking spot on with the emotion of it.

Homeworld: Cataclysm: Again, the ending. The still frame epilogue, explaining how things panned out. The final shot of the Kuun-Lan, flying in orbit towards Higarra, with all the ships of the other Kith arrayed like an honor guard before them, the narrators deep voice resonating with emotion. Just, great.

inFamous 2: The good ending. It was just well done, since this game is more recent I'll not spoil it by saying why exactly, but it was a very emotional ending, and very well delivered.

Let's see.....can't think of any others, but I know they exist. It's usually a response to something I find really awesome, not so much from sadness, though that does happen from time to time. But yeah, usually tears of joy/awesomeness at a story well told, with a very satisfying resolution in some way.

Oh! Just remembered a new one. That Futurama episode with the dog. Holy shit that was so fucking sad.

Movies: Toy Story 3's ending and That scene in The Land Before Time with Littlefoot's mom and the T-Rex.

Games: Mother 3, both the begining and the end. Also Walking Dead season 1 in chap 3 and the ending.

However, I cry pretty easily in movie theters, and it doesn't even have anything to do with emotions.

These kinds of low sounds make me cry in movie theaters, and especially music that is very epic.
It's just sort of a physical response, I have no idea why.

Also this only happens in movie theaters...

I have been known to cry because of the emotional impact too though. I still cry at the ending when I replay Ghost Trick. It just gets me for very personal reasons.

Oh, I'm a sap. I shed tears at the end of Pan's Labyrinth, Vincent and the Doctor gets me every freakin' time. Hell, I even cried during Ernest Goes to Camp. It was right after he was trying to bond with these kids and they totally blow him off and put him down.

-The season 3 finale of The West Wing. "Hallelujah," indeed...

Really? For me it was the Season 2 finale. The scene in the cathedral, followed by "Brothers in Arms". God damn it, that episode still gives me chills today.

Actually, a lot of good television can make me blurry. The last three episodes of Boardwalk Empire, especially that last scene, really got to me.

However, the most emotionally drained I think I've ever been was after watching the Season 4 finale of the Wire on DVD. Just so much hell to go through, with little bits of light shining through the darkness.

When Vigil tells you about what had happened to the last Protheans. I could barely fall asleep that night, and Vigil's theme sends chills down my spine up to this very day.

For that moment alone, ME1 is one of my, if not my favorite game of all times.
