My dad hogs the ps3 and he plays CoD for hours at a time. Sadly, he's not good at all and has horrible taste in games. He refuses to try any other game.

My dad plays a lot of FPS's. He's not all the good, but has...persistence.

My mom just plays Farmville as far as I know.
My dad has the opposite problem, he tries to play and then won't persist after a dying a few times and quits. Then the next big game comes over and he does it again. I don't think he realises the game won't play itself...

In the days of the NES and SNES, no one could beat my mother's time in mario speed runs.
She hasn't picked up a video game since sadly.

After my dad got tennis elbow from wii tennis, he hasn't touched a video game since. He used to be a fairly big fan of Sim City 2000 however =)

But all in all. No. Not really.

Nope.
Though my dad did apparently play Baldur's Gate (and DnD, but I'm assuming we're only talking about video games) a long long time ago, he gave it to me a few years back.

Both my parents game, the only bad thing is our taste are so different. My dad loves shooters and WRPGs (in fact he's playing Mass Effect 2 downstairs right now) and my mom loves puzzle games like Professor Layton or casual ones like Sudoku. I play a little of everything but mostly enjoy JRPGs, platformers, and action adventure games.

I find it funny when I was little and couldn't beat a boss on the Sega, I would ask him for help. Now it's the other way around.

My father spends almost all of his time working in Europe, so I doubt it. My mother definitely doesn't.

Both played games with me when I was young, but neither play solo.

My mother is the one who actually got my siblings and I into video games. The credit could technically go to my Dad since he's the one who bought the NES for my Mom, my Mom is just the one who got my siblings and I hooked and it all kind of cascaded from there.

Now that my Mom has a job she doesn't have much time to play the same type of games I do, she mostly plays browser and Facebook games now. She does still pick up a controller every now and then to play things like FFXIII, Darksiders, Oblivion and Dragon Age.

My Dad... He slightly plays video games. He once expressed interest in CoD when he saw me playing the World at War single player campaign but never actually tried it. He does play Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 on the Wii though when the actual golf season is over and he can't go to the courses anymore.

My dad plays the Metal of Honor series on the PC.

But then he changes the default keymap around and it kinda bugs the hell out of me. I've gotten used to all 4 systems (Wii, Xbox, PS3, PC) and I can see the merits of the default setups for each. That's probably why it bothers me.

If solitaire, spider solitaire and hearts count then yes.
If not then my father used to play zippy racer on NES when we had one.

Yeah, my dad used to play the quake games, and he's the one who got me "into" gaming, playing co-op Halo 1 with me when I was 7 (not exactly the most responsible parent ever), which kicked off me actually giving a crap about games. He still plays the Halo games, and that is all he plays.

they both do, as well as aunts and uncles play. my father has a wii and plays a few times a week, then when hes with my uncle they will challenge each other to game. uncle is 70 years old and my father is 64 and they have a blast playing. then when my aunt is there they all get going in play the winner. my father also likes racing games but hes not good at it and its fun to watch him crash allot.

my mother plays PC casual point and click puzzle games and her husband played railroad tycoon, and several casino type games like a slot machine or video poker.

I am 40 myself and a father so i will answer for my daughter.... yep i play games! FPS, RTS, MMO, hell anything that has a PC version. I dont own a console myself wich sux because theres a few titles I would like to play but not enough to justify buying one when the majority of my gaming will be on my PC. regardless i do enjoy showing allot of "kiddies" who learned camp or bunny hop, noob tube, spray and pray, run and gun.... general noob fps playstyle how good position and tactics can be pure pwnage in any other game than garbage COD.

and my cousin who is a father is one of the most frustrating snipers in a game ever if hes on the other team but excelent for the team he is on. he does 1 shot 1 kill all day long. takes the shot and moves to a new location. all the while giving his team info on where the enemy is at and what they are doing. and then in cqb he is deadly with a knife and pistol.

this poll could use some more options, i said no, but my parents do play solitaire, minesweeper, and angry birds sparingly. so i think more no than yes.

The Wii, my sisters Rayman spin off games (Raving Rabbids?) and WiiSports. Dad used to play PS1 games with me, Final Doom, Alone in the Dark, Rayman, and some PS2, but this was years ago. He's quite technophobic now.

Both my parents have no coordination for FPS's and mash buttons on fighting games, but they are persistent...
