Simply put yes. If I dislike the DRM, generally because it's too draconian, I will not purchase it. I have yet to buy another Ubisoft game since AC2 even though I'd like to play subsequent Assassin's Creed games. If the DRM punishes me without offering something back then it's a no go for me.

I actually have more of a problem with Batman using GFWL than secureROM. The amount of save games GFWL has killed for me.
If you look in the files you can find those save games. It's just that when you log in the game looks for saves in the account folder instead of some other folder. Just click and drag them in to the account and you should be good to go. I had to do this with Fallout 3.

Back on Topic. I don't mind DRM as long as I can play LAN with my brothers. Not necessarily steam's fault, but I'd love to play L4D LAN, but I refuse to buy 2 more copies of it to do so. Wish there was a LAN option...

I will almost never buy a game for its DLC. However, some games have DLC that is so amazing that I will totally buy it if I already have the base game.

Undead Nightmare and BFBC2 Vietnam, I'm lookin at you!

EDIT: Oh, shit. DRM. I thought it said DLC.

Ummm...yeah. It totally affects my purchase, though it depends on the level and severity of the DRM.

If it's like SPORE or assassin's creed 2 pc DRM, then the game can go fuck itself.

I'll never, ever purchase a game with always-on DRM (Diablo 3, I'm looking at you). I might be moving into a new apartment in the next few months, and I'll be damned if I won't be able to get access to my single-player game (in which I have no intention of interacting with other players at all if I can help it) because I can't afford a decent internet connection.

There have been a couple games I haven't bought because of the DRM, but to be honest if I want it enough I will forgive a fair bit.
I didn't buy Dragon Age 2 because I had a hell of a time getting all my downloads to activate with the first one. I did PLAY it, but only after a friend of mine had finished and lent me his laptop. They literally cost themselves a day 1 sale and i didn't miss out on anything. I did buy Mass Effect 2 because i think it is one of the best things to come out in quite a while, Origin however will be a deal breaker, probably a "borrowing my buddies laptop" again situation.
I have started coming around on Steam as they have drastically improved the "bad packet" install issues that come with inferior internet but I still find it is a poorly made interface.

Honestly there is just too much on the market for me to take a gamble on something essentially defective by design. I will buy from a company that does not feel the need to limit my playtime or spy on me.

Yes.
Anything with TAGES I will NOT purchase. I refuse to pay 40+ for a game and than have to haggle with a support rep for another key because my hardware profile changed to many times.
Some games have slipped past me with it though, blasted Steam.

Anything that requires Origin I will NOT purchase, because EA are complete bastards.

I use Steam and would happily praise it as the best drm there is, possibly because i don't really consider it drm, but pretty much all other drm i've either had a bad experience with or just refuse to touch with a bargepole.
Games for Windows Live i tolerated because I enjoyed W40k, but that was it.
Origin I have an account by default because I used to have an EA account, but I refuse to use it because of the appalling terms of service. If I ever feel like playing BF3 (unlikely at this point in time), i'll do it on a platform that doesn't use it.
The rest of them can pretty much be removed or overridden (I bought it, I can do what the hell I want).

Not really, but it can be a minor factor in the decision when I'm not sure about it. Example would the The Old Republic. The fact that it comes with Origin is a point against it in a not very positive tally to begin with, but it's not in the least decisive.

Yeah. Though I think I got Securommed with Arkham Asylum? Bought that one anyway.

Farcry and Crysis are the ones I've been interested in and deterred because of the DRM. Crysis gets increasingly hilarious as time goes on and still has a rootkit. "Gah, we must protect our 4 year old game we're selling for a song from teh piratzorz!"

I was thinking about getting Assassin's Creed: revelations and Battlefield 3 for PC but since they have always on DRM and require Origin, respectively, I will only be getting those for xbox if at all.

Then again, Im not happy with Microsoft at the moment over their "no clas action suits" dick move and I have yet to update my xbox because of that. So maybe I won't get the games at all.

Oh well, I have Skyrim and Skyward sword to keep me busy for a long, long time.

The only DRM I'm ok with is the very basic CD key stuff that comes with the manuals and junk.

If it requires that I have an account with origin/steam (assuming its a physical disk I bought), or that I constantly be online to play the game, than I refuse to buy it from the company.

If its a game I really want, well... I'll obtain it through any means necesary that avoids the company who put it out getting a profit. (Before any of you hit that report button, how do you know I'm not talking about buying it used?)

I chose the first option. I refused to buy Assassin's Creed Revelations because of the DRM on brotherhood.

Torrented version on my brother's computer: move one crack folder and youre good to go.
Legitimate version of Brotherhood: Three days until the DRM stopped tweaking and blocking my access to MY GAME.

So fuck UbiSoft. Their DRM does nothing but deter customers, and has made my desire to continue the assassin's creed story evaporate.

Can't really think of a time it has. Of course, if it's stuff like Ubisoft's always online jazz, I'll probably just get it on console instead anyway.
ubi dropped that for revelations (my first prucahse of the ass creed franchise, notice the reason lol)
Well, I'll probably still get it on console, since my PC is shite.

Nope, it's all crackable in the end. I buy the game legit and still crack it just so I can play normally.

i voted no. i play all of my games on either my 360 or Steam, and DRM is fairly easy to manage on both of those.

Minus steam, I don't buy games that have DRM in them, why? Because the only logical intended purpose for DRM is to piss off customers since no pirates ripped version would contain limited installs or require you to be online to play because they just rip it out, so if they rip it out within a week of release and they're the 'intended targets' what does that mean for the DRM? It's meant to piss off consumers.

No.

The only time DRM has ever inconvenienced me I was just able to call up Ubisoft they gave me 5 more activations for the game, so I was good to go.

I try to avoid it since I don't want to support it, but if a really good game comes out I'll deal with it. By deal with I mean crack.
