Poll: Does Fansevice bug you?

It doesn't bug me, but I do avoid anime that spams you with fanservice.

I clicked on the link to this thread thinking we were going to be discussing whether or not developers go too far with making the game tailored to the fans desires.
And now I've just become witness to a terrifying video of an alternate universe where womens breasts have developed angry and violent sentient minds of their own and are attempting to pull free from their former masters to take over the world.

OT: Yes, to a degree I do find showing up the sexual side of a female character quite annoying, especially when it is entirely possible to imply that a female character has a sexual side without having to have the camera pan up their behinds and have their breasts jiggle like jelly that's been possessed by demons. I mean just have an attractive female character occasionally make flirtatious remarks, we don't need to have them be so ridiculously sexed up that people start to forget that women in the real world don't actually look like that.

So yeah, maybe occasionally it's okay but for the most part it does annoy me somewhat and as that... video aptly demonstrates, there's a little bit too much of it around.

But not all fanservice anime is bad theres been a couple of them where the story is interesting that I can ignore the big boobs.

This anime is a perfect example of that.

Honestly, I love panty shots and bouncing boobies, but with Highschool of the Dead in particular, it's so laughably random and out of place I find that it does take away from the quality of the show.

i saw 1 ep of highschool of the dead too, and yeah it was a bit obvious, but nowhere near as bad as that compilation movie that was posted here wtf

but it's not like hollywood doesnt do it in its movies, not so much pantyshots, but boobs where boobs aren't needed at all

So the ability to streak or wear stripper outfits (plus the strippers) in Saints Row 2 annoys you? Thats... weird. What about the defined posterior on Cortana in H1 and her look in H3? What about Jennifer Mui's optional Catsuit in Mercs 2? Do those annoy you? Personally, I like fanservice.

If it's optional, then I just don't view it. It's pointless.
If it's shoved in my face, then: Yes, it annoys me.

Sex and sexuality isn't that interesting. Just get on with the story, or the game, or the action, or anything else. If I'm interested in sex, I'll talk to my wife. Otherwise: I don't play games for sexual content, I don't watch anime for sexual content, I don't watch TV or movies for sexual content. Especially needless sexual content with no purpose other then to exist. That's stupid.

Not to mention about half of that terrible Wolverine movie.

It has to make sense within the plot otherwise it's just distracting. "Why is she taking a shower?" "Did they really need to spend 4 minutes on her getting dressed?" "What's the point of this scene?"

If the whole point of an entire scene is fanservice, it's going to stick out.

I don't mind the more subtle fanservice, like the girls wearing overly short skirts or the odd shower scene but the more in your face fanservice can really piss me off. The new Strike Witches 2 and Highschool of the Dead are the major offenders this season.

I recently made a thread talking about the new anime Highschool of the dead and to my surprise I had several people say the the huge boobs and random pantie shots known as Fansevice turned them off from the anime. I thought huge bouncing boobies and up skirt panty shots was all guys could ever ask for? Is it because when they finally get what they want they realise they dont truly want it anymore? or are men loosen their balls? What do you think?

No, because I'm not a pervert. And to say that "guys are loosing their balls" because they aren't perverted just makes you sound a lot worse of a perv (and like a 12 year old who just hit puberty). There is more to life than skin and fat...

I don't mind it, there was an awful lot in Kämpfer, and Star Ocean 4, but I enjoyed both, even if they both had a lot of fan service in them.

It doesn't bother me, and I doubt it'd change my opinion on something.

If I want sex, i'll watch a hentai. (or go visit my boyfriend) But if I'm watching a regular anime, I don't want to be distracted by butts and boobs all over the place. The Highschool of the dead manga had just as much fanservice, but I read it for the story and action

Appreciation of well-drawn female bodies is all well and good, but after awhile it can insult your intelligence. So yeah, it bugs me. It's like, hey, look, the creators of this anime felt they needed to orient the camera on incredibly detailed drawing of panties or boobies so often that it's as though that's the most exciting thing going on in the entire anime. It's hard to feel as though my time is well-used watching garbage that the developers themselves had such poor faith in. Fortunately, that doesn't happen too often, but it's really annoying in the animes that do. (E.g. Shuffle! I'd probably feel differently about this if I were, like the original poster, still a teenager young enough to think "putting C4 on puppies and making them go boom" was funny enough to go on my profile, as the hormones implicit to that age would render drawings of the fairer sex's mystery regions as a source of unlimited awesome that fully deserves front and center stage on any entertainment media I watch. Alas, this is no longer the case.
