No, this is not about 'Oh, where do you think they're hiding? Let's go hunting!' This more of, 'Hey! We like dragons! We should talk about why we like them or something cool involving them!'

Anyone else like dragons? I like them because I like reptiles even though they have the Grim Reaper on speed dial in case I touch them. Having them fly around would brighten anyone's day.

In the recent events I found that Dragon-stuff is sort of "Girly"-stuff. Girls put me off the topic for good.

Really? Liking dragons as a little girl got me socially ostracized by all but the few other weird people...

How are flying beasts that breath fire, have natural armor, could eat you if they so choose too, and could pass for a large hill be girly???

Back when I was a kid I read Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher. That story was so cool, I couldn't help getting hooked on dragons. I love reading anything with them, whether they are enemies, companions, or just hanging out. Heck, I have 6 dragons sitting on my desk right now, and more in another room. They just have so many attributes that scream "Kick ass!" Sadly, most video games that feature them portray them as enemies, I'd like to see a few where they are allies, or can be allies.

I know, but when people generally think of girly (not trying to be sexist, just going by public) they imagine pink, cute, and adorably. Not giant, blood-thirsty, armored beast that could destroy a good chunk of the continent before breakfast.

What's not to love about them? They are suitably epic, for roles as antagonists, protagonists, and faithful mounts. That said, a lot of depictions of dragons tend to get boring. I refer to the ones where they are do-gooders with human emotions.

Can you recall how many you have in all? I have 18 if you count my painting.

Screw dragons. They're too generic. Everything's "dragons this" or "dragons that" with you people. I like to be unique. Though for the record I voted that I'm a dog person.

Faithful mounts!? That must be one epic paladin you play...

two things:
1. in my experience the wierd and socially ostracized people are the cool ones, beside if you aren't wierd you're normal, and normal is boring

2. if i could find a girl as into dragons and fantasy as i am, believe me, there would be no social ostracizing

Heh, of all topics, I find this one...

I absolutely adore dragons, to be short about it.

I have read each of the Inheritance Books so far (Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr); I am trying to get my hands back on a working copy of Drakken; I hated the Eragon movie (but loved the design of Saphira); I own both Dragonheart 1 and 2; and most of all (however lame sounding), I am attempting to write a story (originally was gunna be a short story, but may become somewhat of a novel) about the Great Lizards. However, I cannot get past paragraph 2, as I tend to get severe writer's block whenever I attempt to write something up...

There is only one good dragon. Trogdor.
The rest are terrible and can't burninate even a single countryside.
Congratulations you win the thread.

I think fantasy-wise people focus on dragon when there are loads of other interesting mythical creatures to fantasize about. It's also annoying that every other fantasy book HAS to have dragons, its really no longer original.

Considering Dragon Lance is one of my favorite series of books from my earlier years I would say yes I really like Dragons. Reign of Fire and Dragon Slayer are my favorite Dragon movies. I really wish that a full on production of Dragon Lance would get made instead of that utter trash that they crapped out not to long ago. That really pissed me off. If Dragon Lance got the LOTR treatment the scenes with the fleets of colored Dragons doing battle across the skies would blow my mind like a shotgun.

I am also very excited about the production of the Hobbit getting made by Guillermo del Toro, the man who brought us Hell Boy 1/2 and the movie Pan's Labyrinth. Smaug the Dragon is going to amazing to behold.

Dragon Heart sucked for obvious reasons. I don't even care that Sean Connery was the Dragons voice. The movie was extremely trite.

Anyone have any other great Dragon movies?
