Both will burn.

EA for ruining WAR. And publishing crappy sport games every year, without any improvements.

Activision for releasing Prototype and then saying there will be absolutely no support after release. No DLC, no patches, no cheats. Also, they lied about the leg quest... and few other things.
What you really thought that Activision was going to support their games now? They didn't do it years ago with the Total War series(CA and the fans had to beg for patches), they aren't going to start now.

Ea look like they are improving, with a few new Ip's, but they still dick around far too much and the DRM scandle still exists, they have not gotten rid of it yet.
Activision are dicks over Brutal Ledgend but thats all I know about them

I don't really begrudge Activision for squeezing so much out of World of Warcraft. If people want to play it, then go for it. If not, at least I only had to pay $14 for the sample, as opposed to $50 for every other title.

I do however dislike Activision's Guitar Hero, mostly because I actually play the guitar, and find this replica to my distaste. That doesn't make them evil though. Others can still enjoy the novelty.

This being said, I absolutely loathe EA for ruining roughly every game I've owned to be published by them by pushing releases and trying to please more audiences than each specific game is meant to traffic.

Of course "evil" is a slightly harsh word. Maybe, "thoroughly deceived to a veraciously detrimental degree".

For the sake of the poll, I put EA down as the evil one. Activision are money mongers, but at least they don't mess up their own games to such a horrendous degree. Or at least not any of the ones I care about.

neither EA nor Activision needed bailout money to survive, so im guessing neither are greedy, however EA is BAD. like..really bad. they suck at making games.

while activision made some awesome games before, so id say EA.

WoW was released under Blizzard, not Activision-Blizzard. Same as Prototype was released under Activision.

*Shrug* I was just replying to an earlier post. I don't pretend to know anything about the subject; I was merely stating my grievances in my rather sheltered array of games.

could someone explain me why Activison should be evil? especially compared to EA?

sure, they now start re-releasing guitar hero with other band names strapped to it, but what else should you do with guitar hero?

EA for ruining C&C mainly. But all those sports games really show how much of a money grabbing company they are.

Never really considered Activision to be that evil really. However EA annoyed me after what they did with Need for Speed. I loved Most Wanted, didn't like Carbon, and by ProStreet you literally had to pay about £20 just to get half of the cars because there was no other way to unlock them. They were on the disc, all listed as locked. Before you could pay to unlock cars that you could still unlock in the game. But in ProStreet you had to pay to unlock the best half of the cars. I mean the best as well. As if this wasn't enough, to do this in the cheapest way, you were required to buy three packs of cars, and then buy the two best cars separately, as they weren't even in any packs. What this effectively meant was that about £20 was the cheapest amount of money to pay, but to buy them separately I think it was easily £40. Customers were paying full price for what is genuinely half a game, and had to pay more to unlock content that is already on the disc. This blatant corporate greed is what has put me off ever buying another Need for Speed game. Fortunately I had only rented ProStreet, and ever since then I have never spent another penny on the Need for Speed franchise.

Can't deny they're both behind some very good games, and EA have at least being trying to be original, if only because they're being overtaken as the biggest publisher in the world by Activision.

They're both alright, although I prefer EA and Activision dropping several titles because they couldn't make yearly updates out of them was truly the most twat-worthy thing I have ever heard.

EA, not because they make bad games - Mass Effect, The Sims and Fight Night Round 3/4 being examples of good games, But because of the horrendous adverttisements in their games! fight night actually being the worst for that!

I think Activision is worse, they actually said they wanted to exploit their games.

Activision is by far the most evil. EA used to be horrible, but since 2006 and under new leadership, EA have improved drastically. They're bringing in new IP's, they're releasing much more and putting a lot more attention to detail in their things.

Oh and "EA destroyed many good gaming companies and vave is their next target we must stop them!"
How incorrect you are. EA did assimulate many gaming companies, but they never destroyed any of them. For every single one they bought, they always kept the talent and just created bigger divisions where the talent from one company could work alongside the talent from another.
EA got it wrong simply because they churned out too much without a care and weren't too fussed.

EA have turned it around drastically now. John Riccitiello is probably the biggest reason behind this. He's doing a lot for gaming by moving EA from the stagnant water they were in, having them try new things - this is what the gaming industry should be doing.

Infact, here's something from 08. The head honcho of EA admitted mistakes
http://kotaku.com/354350/riccitiello-on-how-not-to-blow-it-the-ea-way

Try say EA are evil now then. Because it's a simple fact that under new management, they're trying their hardest to breathe new life into gaming.

Now the reason Activision are evil.
Here it is, and it's easy to find from a variety of sources.
?[we wont pick up games that] don?t have the potential to be exploited every year on every platform with clear sequel potential and have the potential to become $100 million dollar franchises. ? I think, generally, our strategy has been to focus? on the products that have those attributes and characteristics, the products that we know [that] if we release them today, we?ll be working on them 10 years from now.?

EA... lets make a good game and hype it to bits then not deliver and the stuff we do deliver we cut short because we want to make 17 million expansions. EA after Dungeon Keeper 2 went out the window in my eyes

EA... I hate them, and I can't remember why.

Oh wait, yeah I remember; they release expansion packs BEFORE fixing their broken games. I don't think I've ever had a problem with Activision, though, I bet I have.

And for the record, we're ALL evil. Just a variation of how much.
