I find it funny how alot of people in this topic are telling the OP to get a life(or some variation of that sentiment)like they've never experienced having someone break up with them or the associated feelings of one when they most likely have. Hypocrites much guys?

Granted we probably never came on a forum and asked for help(God I know the internet is full of pricks, see above, so I wouldn't ever consider doing that)but if you don't have anything constructive to say then you're only wasting your time by posting and probably decreasing the brain cells of everyone else who's just trying to comprehend how stupid you are.

A few phrases that might help you:

Grow Up
Get Over It
Fuck Off.
And i have a few words for you:

Get
Some
Fucking
Manners
Inconsiderate
Prick.
Now I have some more for you!
Fuck.
You.
Those are manners, if no one ever tells this little shit to smarten the fuck up, he never will, and will end up not much different from yourself, a burden to society.

EDIT: I'm helping him in the long run.

best thread ever LOL

Sucks you in? Grab a copy of Everquest or WoW. Those will certainly draw you in.
Or, as was said before, Time Splitters. Its a ridiculous series that had me laughing all the time.

Also try getting out if you're feeling like moping around. I mean rather than wallowing in pity.

Wow.. Those are manners?

If I was in this guy's position, I'd be feeling pretty low if I was to be using a forum for advice, so therefore I feel sorry for the guy, as he obviously can't talk to anyone else about it.

Just keep in mind that other people don't act the same as you, everyone has a different way to overcoming depression.

I also find it cute how you call me a burden to society, when I'm acting far more mature and polite than you. Go release your anger upon the people who raised you, for not teaching you any manners.

You are being a burden by not progressing forward, ie. encouraging this guy to grow up and stop being so whiny/counter-productive. By taking his side you are encouraging counter-productivity, and that IS a burden to society.

Stinking hippy.

I recommend Okami for the PS2 or Wii. The world is just beautiful to roam through, and the gameplay was pretty innovative. I tend to fall for pretty locales to run through, so my other recommendation would naturally be Oblivion.

ok emo doesn't mean depressed. Emo is a genre of music. If being depressed mean your emo, then your wrong and ignorant.

Dawn of War: Soul Storm is a great way to kill some time. Eight different races, and each battle can take several hours to win. By then you should be waist deep in orc entrails. Nothing cures the blues like crushing your enemies, seeing them driven before you, and hearing the lamentations of their women. I'm told it's whats best in life.

Also, go out and find some new trim. Always works!

Really? The guy just got dumped and asked us for help and all you can think about it some minor mistake with a definition? Well I guess we learned the definition of jerk too.

Anyway, well I had a ton of fun playing LBP. There isn't a whole lot of story to it, but with all you can make and build with the creation mode it should more then hold your attention.

I am not really sure what to recommend on the 360, I don't have one.

Mad World was pretty entertaining, but you might want to just rent that one if you are going to spend a month or so indoors.

Thanks for your advice, everyone. I'm going to grab a copy of Timesplitters tomorrow after work, since I've never even tried it before.

Also, sorry to ghey up your board like this. I just always noticed that you guys are incredibly polite for a forum and probably wouldn't crucify me for admitting to being bummed out.
You're safe with us. Do you like RTS games? If so, I'd recommend picking up the Dawn of War games, I adored those. The first series though, not number 2.

It just that a LOT of people have to suffer from that false definition. That minor mistake, gets blown into "emo trends" being banned in country (Russia), to people jumping "emo kids". The ignorant definition of "emo" is very bad for it labels everyone emo as depress and self-destructive.

Anyway, I say listen to music, play video games, or well really anything that would make you focus on anything else. Good luck to you DasMask.

Haha, I can't believe this thread still exists, much less is still getting replies.

To all who care, I spent about a month taking your advice and playing a lot of classic PS2 and original Xbox games because I love nostalgia. I rocked out to some Def Jam: Fight For New York (I hate rap, but it's an amazingly solid fighting game, plus the deep character customization makes me smile), some Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel when I felt like just zoning out and doing something that requires no thought, and some assorted other golden oldies, like Raw Danger! for the PS2 and God Hand. I also made the vast, vast mistake of investing some time into a game of Crusader Kings 2: Deus Vult for the PC, and very quickly and completely lost my social life.

I am still playing my first save file, and you will be happy to know that I started as the Count of the Western Isles and am now King of Ireland, England, France, Sweden, Germany, Castille, Aragon and Sicily, have the largest Kingdom on Earth along with my 125 vassals (50 of whom are Dukes with at least three provinces each), and oh yeah, was given an Imperial Crown by the mother f'ing Pope.

And, as icing on the cake, once I started to feel better my ex and I started talking again, and once our bad blood was hashed out we decided to give it another chance. Everything's been going better than ever, and we've begun talking about finding a house together in a nearby mountain town with my two cats.

As lame, faggy and incredibly melodramatic as it sounds, I wouldn't have gotten through it as sane and healthy as I did without your advice, you guys, and I really appreciate it. Who would've thought that I'd find the advice, help and support I needed from random Internet strangers on a website I never used to frequent.

You guys are all right.

start playing Runescape. It will take a lot of your time if you just get into it enough. Then you're gonna wish you never started because it has completely taken over your life. (same goes for wow.)

Well, the games I've spent incredible amounts of time on are "Baldur's Gate 2" (or if you want a darker, more serious/mature story, "Planescape:Torment").
I was thinking exactly the same thing. If you're not into crpg's and/or you need to vent quickly, then you can play some Quake Live [http://quakelive.com]. It's free, you don't need to get out of your seat, takes just a couple of minutes to download and install and you can play either just a few games or waste/fill an entire day and night playing it. You can also go award-hunting if that's what you're into.

Good luck.

Dear Diary:

Mood: Apathetic.

My life is spiraling downward.
I couldn't get enough money to go to the
Blood Red Romance and Suffocate me dry concert.
It sucks 'cause they play some of my favorite songs
like "Stab My Heart Because I Love You" and
"Rip Apart My Soul" and of course,
"Stabby Rip Stab Stab".
And it doesn't help that I couldn't
get my hair to do that flippy thing either.
Like that guy from that band can do.
Some days ugh...

I'm an emo kid, non-conforming as can be
You'd be non-conforming too if
you looked just like me
I have paint on my nails and make-up on my face
I'm almost emo enough to start shaving my legs
'Cause I feel real deep when I'm dressing in drag
I call it freedom of expression,
most just call me a fag
'Cause our dudes look like chicks,
and our chicks look like dykes
'Cause emo is one step below transvestite!

Stop my breathing and slit my throat
I must be emo
I don't jump around when I go to shows
I must be emo

I'm dark, and sensitive with low self-esteem
The way I dress makes every day feel like Halloween
I have no real problems but I like to make believe
I stole my sister's mascara now
I'm grounded for a week.
Sulking and writing poetry are my hobbies
I can't get through a Hawthorne
Heights album without sobbing
Girls keep breaking up with me,
it's never any fun.
They say they already have a pussy,
they don't need another one

Stop my breathing and slit my throat
I must be emo
I don't jump around when I go to shows
I must be emo
Dye in my hair and polish on my toes
I must be emo
I play guitar and write suicide notes
I must be emo

My life is just a black abyss,
you know, it's so dark.
And it's suffocating me.
Grabbing hold of me and tightening it's grip,
tighter than a pair of
my little sister's jeans...
which look great on me by the way.

When I get depressed I cut my
wrists in every direction
Hearing songs about getting
dumped give me an erection
I write in a live journal and
wear thick rimmed glasses
I tell my friends I bleed black
and cry during classes
I'm just a bad, cheap, imitation of goth,
You can read me "Catcher in the
Rye", and watch me jack off.
I wear skin tight clothes while hating my life
If I said I like girls, I'd only be half right!

I look like I'm dead and dress like a homo
I must be emo
Screw XBox, I play old school Nintendo
I must be emo
I like to whine and hate my parentals
I must be emo
Me and my friends all look like clones
I must be emo

My parents just don't get me, you know.
They think I'm gay just because
they saw me kiss a guy.
Well, a couple guys. But I mean, it's the 2000's.
Can't 2 ... or 4 dudes make-out with
each other without being gay?
I mean, chicks dig that kind of thing anyways.
I don't know diary,
sometimes I think you're the only one that gets me,
you're my best friend...
I feel like tacos...

Do you wanna be like that?

Try X-Com on Steam. Yoouuu muuust fiiight theee alieeens!

Ahem. Sorry for the temporary insanity, it happens. Still, X-Com is a great Turn Based Strategy, and its like 10 bucks for the whole series on Steam.

...What? You're happy now? So? Play it.
