To be honest halo isnt bad, but it extremely overhyped, i have played the halo campaign and multiplayer for halo 1,2, and 3 (usually cuz i was bored and the nearest gamer had it ...)
it was fun, but there are a lot better games out there.

I enjoyed then first, long, challenging and fun 2 and 3 I really didn't like too easy, so it's a case of meh the only thing I "hate" about halo is the pedestal it's put on and how some of the more extreme fans can't see past the games short comings.
I've only played co-op round a friends house and, although all right, I didn't see what was so great about the game that it had legions of fans claiming 'B3ST G4M3 3V3R'
I think what I'm trying to say is, its the fan-boys that I don't like not the actual game.
Also many people don't like because:
A. It's cool to not like it.
B. Yahtzee didn't like it.
C. They don't have an xbox

I don't hate halo... I am entitles to hate the idiots who obsess over it though... like bloody twilight.
Why do people believe Half-Life/Bioshock/Kotor/Dragon Age/ etc etc etc is the greatest game on earth? It's an opinion and one is allowed to dislike or like a game by whatever he or she chooses. And everyone hates Halo? I'll try explaining that to the 20,000 playing the game every time I play the game. This is a game that was released almost 4 years ago and it still has thousands of people playing it.
I don't hate halo but the story is generic, and some of the people who play are grade A trolls. (But most games have these same problems) What really makes me come back to the halo series is forge it offers a lot of variation to the generic gameplay. Though I do think Halo is a lot more balanced than some other games on the market today...
Halo isn't a BAD series. I voted to take an axe to Bungie because i hate Bungie. The cash cow of the console world.
On that note, Halos 1 and 2 were pretty good. Half-life knock-offs, yes, but still good. Halo 3 was a steaming pile of dog excrement, however. My fan-boy friends made me sit thru 12 hours of Halo 3. We could have been playing COD4, but apparently, Halo 3 was much better. I think that is was really put me off it. And those fucking Grunts. Anyway, Bungie got two out of three right. I guess that's not bad.
