No, its a fun game. That and theres always someone to play with, either with friends in the room or online.
I think its just part of a hate for popular games.

I don't particularly hate it or like it. Given the option to play a halo game and one of my Wii games, I'd go with No More Heros everytime. What I think really turned me off to the Halo series was its quality. While each one seemed polished to an extent it never engrossed me. It all felt a bit like a grind, thats about it. Why it became so rampantly popular is still beyond me.

Why do people ask this question it's been answered a thousand times. People hate halo because they don't like it. I like halo I think it's fun.

I own the first 3 halo games and don't think they are that good; the story is boring, the game play is slow, the community is a bunch of screaming retarded toddlers who have a constant need to kill something just to validate there inferiority complex.

Halo has started to become overrated, but to say one hates the games is a lie. The first two were great, Bungie just started to lose its way with the third. Most people who say they hate Halo have never played it because they own a Sony or Nintendo console and don't want to admit another console or developer has designed a game that they desire, thus they look for every flaw and can find in order to diminish the value of the game. This doesn't stop them from getting excited every time they hear a rumor its coming to their own console though and now that bungie and activison are working closely together all the Sony fanboys will be dieing to get their hands on whatever they produce.

PS: In regards to Halo being a generic game, just grow up already if that is your only arguement, many people would argue the original Half-Life is a generic game, doesn't change the fact it was great.
Yeah, because going over to a friend's house who has it and playing it there is impossible...
I'm a PS3 owner. Last gen I had a PS2. You could say I'm a PS3 fanboy. I'll take liitlebigplanet over Halo any day. Because LBP is fun, interesting, a fresh take on a platformer, allows creativity (yes I know about forge), you can make a variety of experiences in the level builder, and it has a nice, accepting, and more mature online community.
Halo 1 had a good story. The books have a good story. Halos 2-3 do not.
Halo (all of them) have repetitive areas, poor enemy AI, bad voice acting, and it is extremely generic. When it came out, it was one of the few Space marine badass killing aliens. Now, that same title has become generic. Half life has the Orwellian society (at least in 2), good story, and varied level design going for it. The majority of the Halo franchise does not. I've played halo, and was not impressed. And you, Crimsion Sniper, are not different from the other fanboys. You are blinded by loyalty to the xbox that you can't believe halo has flaws and you must degrade anyone who says otherwise. Halo looked cool. I do not desire it because...THE PS3 HAS LITTLEBIGPLANET!!!
BTW, I think that Bungie is cool and would be willing to buy a good, non generic game made by them. That doesn't mean Halo is any less of a generic shooter with a poor story and copy and pasted environments.
P.S. Halo fans cause a deep burning hatred in my soul.
Considering that I owned a PS3 I can tell you with certainity that it lacks any good exclusive shooters. Killzone 2 is overrated (and the original is among the worst games made for the PS2). The fact that Sony wants their own Halo lookalike only reinforces the fact that they and their community spin negative comments about the game in order to undermine its gameplay. I never said Halo was the greatest game ever, but the first 2 were among the strongest console shooters I have played. Your restatement of the generic manner of the game is overdone and a weak excuse for why the game is bad. Bringing back Killzone 2, that game is many times more generic than even Halo was. Gameplay is what ultimately matters for a game more than most other aspects (which are still important) however they are not necessary to having fun. You yourself are blinded by your PS3 faboyishness, as I have owned all the consoles for extended periods of time. Calling another person a fanboy without reason only makes you look like more of a Sony fanboy yourself.

P.S.: The entire Halo community for Halo: Combat Evolved that I interacted with consisted of myself and my brother playing co-op, its kinda hard to argue that the community was a negative aspect of the game when Xbox live wasn't even released till over 1 year later.

P.S.S.: Little Big Planet is by your own definition a generic game as it is entirely based on a poor story (or lack of one altogether to be more precise)and cut-and-paste environments. :p

P.S.S.S.: PS3 fanboys have a very special place reserved in the circle of hell for frauds and liars. :p

P.S.S.S.S.: I guess you missed one of my earlier quotes: "The worst thing about Halo is all the trollers who come and argue with you every time you mention the game as being anything other than horrible."

P.S.S.S.S.S.: Think I have enough P.S.'s?

I don't hate Halo. The first game was infrickin'credible, the second game was nowhere-as-good-but-still-acceptable, Halo 3 is dreadful, Wars looks ok, ODST doesn't look much better, I haven't seen enough of Reach to judge what that's gonna be like, and when Bungie stops making Halo and it's just Microsoft, that's when I'm gonna go to every game shop in the country stamping on every copy of Halo I find. In my imagination. The other Halo (forgot what it's called) I haven't seen any of so I can't judge.
So I just say "meh" to it as a whole.

I hate how Halo 2 was nothing like Halo 1.
Pistol sucks now? wtf... No assault rifle?
It was a good game, but not as good as the first one.

I Halo was the first console game I ever played and I loved it, so I really like halo. Though Halo wars was kinda shite compared to what they could have done. Also I really like the story as I'm really interested in sci-fi and new technology which halo is chock full of.

I heard someone on MW2 say this though, which I thought was very accurate.
"Call of Duty is for the Kids who can't play halo."

It was alright. I played Halo 3 in co-op and it was tolerable. Ultimately it was a very empty experience and I would quote Yahtzee's review by saying it was "boiler plate and run-of-the-mill".

It was a revolution for the console, but I had been playing good FPS games on PC before Halo came out. Guess I was spoiled back then.

Halo 1 was good
Halo 2 was better
Halo 3 sucked monkey balls
Halo ODST was dumb
Halo Reach is more of the same shit

My hate for halo is more for it's community then the game. The games suck now as with most sequels. The community is horrible. That being said so are the communities of MW2 and most shooters that emulate halo.
