I hate it. Unfortunately, it's pretty much the only way I can communicate with anyone now. Hardly anyone I know answers their fucking phones and they all just sit about all day pissing about on facebook and not going out. If I want to organise anything, not using facebook means it is destined to fail...

So yes, I hate facebook. But I DO use it for the aforementioned reasons. =(

I am apathetic to Facebook. I have it, but I stopped caring about the game/group/spam invites. Trying to block them is like trying to chop down a tree with your face.

Also, I don't really see why people get mad when Facebook changes it look. If you are that attached to a website, you have problems...

Ya know, I feel like everyone's hate to Facebook could be simplified by not having a 1000 friends or friends that won't stop inviting you to to play *insert*ville.

Never did and I am never planning to do so.

Wooohooo I haz 500 friends from whom 15-30 are actual friends of mine. It kind of feels pointless to me.

Facebook has definitely worn itself out on me, I don't use the shit anymore. It's time to detach myself from the waste of time that is Facebook, fuck mark zuckerberg and his genius ideas!

i dont mind facebook, it makes organising things so much easier.
and if you dont like certain people commenting just unfriend them, its a very easy tthing to do, or just dont accept them in the first place (you wont find a single family member on mine)

il chat to people occasional on there, but by large il just text them, but it comes in handy when friends lose phones and what not (i have some really dozey friends), plus its fun to keep intouch with peopel who you cant go and see, i have mates all round country who i really see, but with all tho photos that get put up of them i have enough to take the piss for years to come

The reason Facebook is so evil [http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/3639679.stm]

And this was found out before Facebook took hold.

Its a handy way of contacting people for free if they live in the next town over etc. Its great for planning events and... The facebook tab is directly next to this one and its really effecting my responses (o_O)

Seriously though there arn't too many disadvantages if you can stand the invite spamming, unless your trying to hold two girls at once in which case you have to pretend to one of them that you don't have it so they won't see your relationship status and you have to avoid posting on their friends walls so they won't figure it out and come after you and its all just too much effort. :)

I saw one how a mother let her kid drown in the tub because she was addicted to facebook

I don't know if its me or what, but i can't stand Facebook anymore, is it the fact that all your family members are friends and when you make a funny comment or something and your talking with your buds on Facebook when all of a sudden your parents join in and ruin everything? Have you ever had something like that happen? or how Facebook changes its look every 6 months or is it the Facebook games and the massive spam of invites and crap that people send you constantly forcing you to block everything.

See the thing is im on the verge of completely deleting everything off my profile then deactivating it. But i don't know if i will or not because there is at least 10 people i want to stay in contact with, but Facebook keeps shoveling crap in my face, what should i do?

do you dislike Facebook? if so then why?

facebook has its uses, for instance, without it we wouldn't have http://failbook.failblog.org/
I just spent an hour looking at that site. hilarious.

I use it, and I've found a way to circumvent the family problem: don't add them.

It's okay, but Facebook could be better.
This+ I don't add anyone I just DON'T LIKE. Shocking concept, but I only have about 70 friends. I used to have 250.

I only have my mom as a facebook friend, and when I make a status I don't want her to see I change the privacy settings appropriately.

I don't have much to hide in the way of photos though, so maybe it just works out well for me.

Maybe you shouldn't friend anyone you don't want to stay in contact with. There is an "ignore" button, you know...

OT: I use Facebook, so obviously I like it. I helps me keep in contact with people, track events, follow my favorite bands, etc ,etc...

When you sign up to facebook, you have to agree to having your details shared with third party companies so it's basically free market research :/

I've never had one, and I never will. The only people I would befriend are the people I talk to every day anyway.

I refuse to pretend to be friends with people just to be a part of the social networking craze.

I can't stand those people that add the people that nodded to them while they were walking down the hall in highschool 6 years ago. They're not your friends. You're not cool because you have 200+ friends on Facebook, with only 6 of them being your real friends.
This is an argument that bothers me. Do you actually know anyone who thinks they're cool because they have loads of friends on a social networking site? I've never met anyone like that who isn't 12 or socially awkward

I use it, but I'm really getting tired of all the changes they're making. Does Facebook really need to be upgraded THAT MUCH? And the creators must assume that everyone has really amazingly sharp vision because they made the font so small.
Plus the ads they show get pretty annoying as well. They need to do it, of course, but when you tell them that you no longer want to see them, they keep popping up anyway.

I dislike how no matter how often I click on the 'most recent news' button the homepage keeps reverting back to 'top news', a misnomer if ever I saw one.

Anyway, I keep mine up to maintain the illusion that I can keep in touch with my distant family members and, high school friends. I don't use it too often and really don't care about it. I used to play Vampire Wars but that got kinda sad and monotonous.

Never used it. I never had the need. I can contact all the people I need to without it.

Yes, I dislike it... and no, I don't use it anymore. Too many people in my family used it without security while tagging me in pictures (I didn't use any part of my real name on that site for a reason, dammit!)... and then people I knew a decade or more ago who I wanted nothing to do with found ways to contact me. The time directly before I deleted my account wasn't pretty.
