Jeez, I wanna say Ezio, but it's obviously Batman. Higher stealth, infinitely better hand-to-hand combat; everyone else has already mentioned it all, really. Not to mention that if you put Ezio in a modern-day Gotham, you just know he's going to instantly forget any assassin-like duties and slob about playing (his own?) video games and eating Cheetos. In-between prostitute time, obviously.
this sounds like the basis for an INCREDIBLE crossover one day; I would very much like to see these two badasses duke it out

Batman needs his gadgets to do parkour and all the chase stuff that Ezio can do naturally, or with 600 year old technology. In a chase, Ezio would win. In a fight, Batman is very tough, but so is Ezio, and is as skilled with all his blades as Batman is with his fists. He can also fight effectively with his bare hands. I enjoy killing guards with Ezio's unarmed skills when stabbing them gets too monotonous. Finally, as has been said by a good few others, Ezio is only at risk of getting a fist in the face and a night in an easily escaped prison. If Batman loses, he won't get a second chance.
Batman wins, he already thought about this possibility and made 3 different plans for it. He also already has a backup plan in case the 3 plans fail. What if the backup fails? Yeah, he's covered that too.
Batman without a doubt. Read "Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne" by Grant Morrison. Bruce Wayne can thrive as a detective in ANY time period.
Well, even though I really like Ezio (probably even more than I like Batman) I'd have to say Batman would probably win.
A, Batman's clothes are by default black, which is much better for stealthing around.
B, Batman has way better and way more high-tech/reliable gadgets.
C, Batman is a superhero with the superpower of luck.
D, Batman has a f*cking super car and a giant underground laboratory headquarters.

Yeah, except heat/night vision would tell him who Ezio is, just allow him to see various silhouette in the dark. Ezio would immediately know who batman is the minute he started glowing gold.Ultratwinkie said:
First off they both hide so by that logic it'd just be a stalemate of them just waiting on ledges for the other to walk by. Also, though batman has a bulletproof suit, his face is still quite vulnerable and Ezio has a knack for going for weak/exposed parts in armor. And I really wouldn't compare Ezio to the Joker. I think most people are forgetting that the OP states that Bats has none of his gadgets. In a 1500's tech setting the match would probably be pretty even, except that Ezio would higher people to do the job and since Ezio could just wait til someone turns gold... Tech just makes it lopsided.
