It's starting to come in. I'm just waiting until it covers the essential parts.
Then I would allow it to grow a little, see how it fairs, and I'll choose what to do with it.

I'll hope to have light facial hair. A mustache and chin patch. It all depends how much my face can manage. XD

My hatred of shaving is the only reason I keep my beard.
Only at the point it's long enough to be annoying, does the whole thing come off.

I started growing a mustache back when I was in ninth grade and a beard shortly after I graduated high school. I think I got the beard from my mother's side because my dad said he and his brother couldn't grow beards. I have had my beard for the last nine years that I am always afraid to get it trimmed that the barber might make a mistake and cut it off by accident.

I'm currently at full beard mode.
I have enough beard that even my scruffy neckbeard doesn't actually look bad.
(Not good either, mind you.)

I'm still not sure if my beard or goatee looks better, but the awkward phase between goatee and beard is entirely too long for me to shave and then change my mind.
So until one of my ladies declares a preference, the beard stays.

As a man with a nice full beard, I can't ever go back to my highschool days of having a naked chin, a naked chin is a waste of beard space. I beard, therefore I am.

I've got a light mustache 'cuz mustaches are manly.

I do occasionally have a beard going, but usually shave it off when I get tired of it. Funny thing. My hair is brown, but my beard actually comes in RED, or a shade of dark burgundy. It's the strangest and most awesome thing, though I'm not confident in my ability to have a beard without looking like a hobo, so I shave.

I started getting facial hair in high school, and before everyone else. The girls absolutely loved it. Swoon city; so perhaps that's some indication, but I'm good looking anyway, so maybe not.

On myself, I hate the way it feels. And yes, I have gone full on beard mode, but the other thing I hate is having to shave all the time >_< I cannot win. I think it looks fine on other people though.

I haven't been clean shaven in almost four years. The only reason I shaved then is because I was dating a girl in year 11 and was going with her to her Semi-Formal (think Prom). Her Dad said that if I didn't shave, he'd hold me down and shave me.
I shaved.

But anyway, I look really good with a beard. It suits me and I can grow it nice and thick.

I'm clean shaven at the moment, but my fiancee prefers me with a bit of stubble or light beard. However, when it grows beyond that, I tend to shave it off as I worry constantly about food in my beard.

However, I must say that you shouldn't grow a beard and long hair. Either you're Canadian and can pull it off or you're going to look ridiculous. It's kinda like this generations neckbeard, complete with fedora and trenchcoat.

I have a manly beard. It's manly. I'm also horribly, horribly alone. I don't see any connection.

My beard is somewhat hard to deal with though, since it has the same stiff, curly texture as pubes. You could say it's high maintenance, but then again, so it shaving.

Currently a member of the bearded community. It's the way of the future. I have been told "But it makes you look older." which is just fine by me. Beards are very masculine. Men without beards...well this should explain that.

I hate facial hair, I don't want it and I'd prefer I didn't grow it at all. I also dislike shaving but not as much as facial hair.

On other people? Generally speaking I dislike it but ultimately it's your face not mine so I can't really force you to.

Generally speaking, it's a no.

Some guys can pull off the sexy trimmed beard look but they're usually ridiculously good-looking anyway.

It's so itchy too, like, beard rash is the worst.
That's just an initial thing, once you get past that, you have a portable cat strapped to your face.

On another note, I also prefer them to shave their balls as well or anywhere else they want kissed. A mouthful of hair is not appetizing or sexy.
I think this is actually an extremely fair point if you expect women to keep their garden trimmed.

However, on beards: I think perhaps "intentially trying to repulse a parter" is a little extreme of a discription and breaking up because it isn't exactly trying to make the relationship work either.

OT: Originally, I hated the fact that I could grow a beard, especially as I grow really thick hair and really quickly. All of my other mates wanted beards, but none of them could grow them, then I met my (now) wife and grew a beard when I was courting her as she loves facial hair, now I wouldn't do with out it, a well groomed beard looks fucking dapper, and keeps your face warm in the winter. So yeah, resouding yay from me. What does annoy me is when people say "Oh growing a beard is for lazy people", like buggery, I need to groom it almost every day and it takes care and attention, being clean shaven is fucking easy.

Strangely even as a straight guy, Chris Hemsworth as Thor is damn fine, but when he loses the beard, he's nowhere near as attractive...it's wierd.

Aesthetically, I prefer the clean-shaven look.

It is a tricky question to navigate. I usually sport a beard out of habit. (no moustache, and no sideburns) However, given the way my family were raised, it needs to be said that shaving the beard has always been frowned upon. Seeing a man at temple without his beard usually indicated that they had brought shame on the family. It could be anything-- gambling your savings away, doing drugs, turning down a partner that was hand-picked by your family, or cheating on your spouse.

Facial hair in that sense is itchy, painful and unpleasant.
Sounds like your boyfriend needs some conditioner on his beard.
My boyfriend could condition his beard with purified unicorn tears and it would still give me a rash.
My skin's ridiculously sensitive to the point where I can't even wear most make-up.

Sadly, his beard is an acceptable sacrifice in the never-ending relationship wars.

Why, yes. I like the way my beard looks on my face, and so does the ladyfriend. It has a slight blond streak running down the chin, that I suspect will turn gray when I get older. So I anticipate that I will look classy as fuck when I am an older gentleman.

And just the other day some random dude on the street told me I was starting to look like one of those dudes on Duck Dynasty. Clearly an exaggeration, and one I'd usually be mortified by, but I'll just tack it down as an indication that my BEARD has leveled up.

I have a full beard now. I keep it neat, trim it every once in a while, particularly the mustache. I don't care for the soup catcher.

Once you get past the itchy phase, a lot of which can be mitigated by shaving off the neck beard, it's just way easier. If a girlfriend preferred me clean shaven I could tolerate shaving every day, but there are certain times when I would still forgo shaving, like hockey playoff season and November. She can deal with me being bearded for a few months out of the year... also winter. I shaved entirely once this winter and my face was fucking freezing.
