Because they're depressed that no one likes isometric turn base RPGs anymore, and every game now has to be action packed.

Hell, they don't even like it anymore, but they remember a time when they did...lol

I played 3, loved it. Played New Vegas, loved it a hell of a lot more, and improved a lot upon the quite borked moral choice system, lack of diversity in skill sets. and just the writing in general.

Apparently the first 2 are like new vegas in that respect, so I could easily see why people might not like 3. New vegas is far better.

I call it "man child syndrome" where certain people think first means best, even though the later installments are clearly superior.

Two and three were just straight up boring for me. Swing, miss. Swing, miss, Swing, miss, Swing 1 dmg.

its so tedious and boring.

That is just your opinion, and fall under that same syndrome. Way to be a hypocrite.

How? FO3 is clearly the superior game.
Im calling the superior game superior, man child syndrome is calling the inferior game superior because it's older and they remember playing it.

played fallout 3 first and then played 1 and 2. fallout 3 is better. its just a better game. 1 and 2 where great for its time but they haven't aged well. what i liked was talking to people but other than that it was boring or just too hard. people tell me its a game you need to play it twice to get proper experience but thats just an excuse. there great but just data compared to the new games.
the reason some hardcore fans hate them is (what i think) is because there not as hard and they felt that its difficulty made it better or more likely it made it that only fans like them could complete the game. the though it made them supro to be able to complete fallout but they hate it that fallout 3 was more mainstream and user friendly

and how is it superior? other than your opinion? Considering how Fallout 3 is inferior to even the standards of the time, you fall under that very man baby syndrome. In fact, that syndrome applies to every single Bethesda game ever released.
Superior graphics(well, graphics to begin with), actual voice acting, exciting moments, you know, actual fun things.

not a 8 bit little blue blob making fuzzy "shooting" sounds at 8bit red blobs.

Fallout 3 got me in the series. Went to the wiki and learned a HOLE lot. The stories of the games were very interesting for me. I played a little of the two, but I don't own them.

So Mario, Tetris, Space invaders are all bad games? Way to cut out all of gaming's past. Considering all i see on your recent play list is GTA IV, COD, and other brainless shiny (shiny for a console) shooters that get traded in after a week, i am not surprised.

Want real graphics? Try this on:

Considering the level of graphics, Fallout 3 looks like Ridge racer. If you consider overdone, cliche, patronizing, and overly patriotic games to be "fun", fine, but don't claim that its a fact.
Uh no shit it looks better? What point are you making? Compare the games we're talking about.

And those WERE all good games. before clearly better games came out. It's the nostalgia blinded fanboys who cant seem to accept it. Yes we get it, your so cool and retro by pretending old games are superior, but it dosen't make it a fact. you guys are the hipsters of the gaming world.

I played them all and started with 2 originally, played one not long after then 3 and new vegas as they came out and do like them all but prefer the later.... maybe cause I love Morrowind and Oblivion too but you are wrong.I started with the first two and still like 3 and New Vegas

I like 3 and its Sequ-ansion New Vegas but they play and feel so very different.

The quirkiness, the moral ambiguity, the strategic combat... these were missing.

What we got instead was an atmospheric romp through the wasteland that could suck you in for hours at a time.

The games are different. That is why there are people you dislike the 3rd but love the originals and vice versa.

Also I miss the ability to use explosives to unlock/destroy doors

PS: Captcha why do you throw German words with umlauts at me! "ateue Göttingen"
I agree with you completely.

Another unbelievably great term you just coined: Sequ-ansion. God, that applies to so many full-priced games today, it's brilliant.

What annoyed the fans about 3 was the stupid, stupid writing and how they completely ignored many aspects of Fallout.

New Vegas pretty much fixed that, and it was awesome.

Don't get me wrong, I am enjoying New Vegas a lot. But it plays EXACTLY like 3.

Perhaps not bad for their time, but not even passable as a flash game in ours.

Understand that while creativity and artistry are the largest elements of gaming, technology will always play an essential role. And Mario, Tetris, and Space Invaders are primitive in comparison. Not only in graphics, but in controls and gameplay mechanics.

If you compare fucking anything to Crysis, it'll look like shit. The best graphics card money can buy would still jump hurdles to run Crysis on highest settings.

Irony so scathing it's hard to believe it's unintentional.

Fallout: Tactics (the worst Fallout game IMO)
Not even close

Fallout Tactics didn't replace Nuka Cola with Bawls energy drink.
Wait WHAT!!! Holy shizzle. I didnt even know that existed but GOD... It looks terrible. I take my last statement. You sir are right
There are two types of people who think Fallout 3 was the wurst game in the series that completely ruined the franchise. Those who never played Fallout Brotherhood of Steel. And those did but try desperately to pretend it doesn't exist. Frankly after beating Brotherhood of Steel I can't say I blame them.

what do you think i was going for? He wants to fight using generic shooters based on "graphics omg"? Fine, ill bring in crysis. Fight fire with even more fire to the point its a warcrime.
Because that's how it works, right? Surely if you take everything to the extremes, you'll come across as a perfectly reasonably-sounding individual.

Except that you don't. You're actually kinda creepy, snooping into people's profiles to base personal attacks instead of taking said time actually substantiating your arguments.

And again, this statement
If you consider overdone, cliche, patronizing, and overly patriotic games to be "fun", fine, but don't claim that its a fact.
Is incredibly ironic. Don't shoot down other people's opinions, claiming they're stating it as fact, and then go waving around your own in other people's faces. That's not how it works.
