I have an all-eveelution team, and though it may not be the strongest my favorite has to be my Glaceon

...Though it looks like I'm the only one... *sniffles*

Jolteon - looks the most badass out of the ones I've heard of, has good moves and doesn't have a lazy sounding name (looking at you leafeon)
Oh my god, I SNORTED with laughter when I read this. I'm such a geek.

My evaluations:

Eevee - Oh goodie, another useless normal type pokemon. Even though it is the cutest, it wasn't practical to not evolve it.

Jolteon - Great in the first games at dealing with psychic types. Good alternative to Pikachu, but for thunder types I'll stick with the bad-ass Electabuzz.

Vaporeon - All I need to say is.....Sea Kitten. Next!

Flareon - Good fire type, but lacking the moveset of other, stronger pokemon. Plus, I usually start with Charmander, making Flareon useless to me.

Espeon - An alright pokemon, but it's competing against Mewtwo, Alakazam, and other, better psychic types.

Umbreon - Emo. Next! (plus houndoom is better)

Leafeon and Glaceon - Never tried them, but they don't seem all that useful to me.

Final Verdict: Jolteon, just because there isn't much else in the earlier games in the way of Thunder-type pokemon.

Umbreon - It's awesome, and can be used for almost anything.
Most recent game I've played was Ruby.

Oh my lord, is it 1999?!

*checks watch*

Hm, guess not. Just messing. My favorite was always (like most others on this thread) jolteon. I didn't know there was such a thing as a leafeon, though. I might actually like that.

Tis between Vaporeon and Flareon, went with Flareon in the end.

Though If you ask me, there are only 4 evolutions :p
WTF is number 4? Gold and Silver brought the evolutions up to 5...
Do you mean Eevee?
Okay, technically 3 evolutions and one base they evolve from.

Man, I sound like one of them elitists :(

I take it all back, there are more Evee's than appeared in red/blue!!!

Found this rather cool pic, it has someone's "ideas" for all other Eevee types, only a matter of time before nintendo milk it to that extent:

Though my answer is Jolteon as he looks the coolest, all spikey n stuff!

why don't people tend to play the newer ones? i've been asking myself this question for a long time now. are they afraid of what people will think? its the show that has sunk into the depths of suckiness. the games are still fun for the same reasons that we remember them. hell, with online matches, they're even better.
It's because they think all the new pokémon are lame and derivative. And they're right (OMG FACTPINION) just kidding :p, but I do think the original ones (and the Gold/Silver generation) were the best, the new onesdon't even look very pokémonesque for some of them (Blaziken for example, looks more Digimon like)

True.

Also, if there were only 3 legendaries + Mewtwo, how come there are several of them now, ALL MORE POWERFUL?

That too. In GS there were 3 Legendaries and 2 Uber legendaries which was still fine, but it just got madder from there, and it's become more and more impossible to complee your pokedex since at least 10 are "event only" ones. mew and celebi for the first two, fine, but for R/S there was Deoxys, Jirachi and now there's like 3 or 4, not to mention that the past ones are harder to put into the new games. Jolteon hands down. Great moves and high speed, and he's the one who looks the most awesome.

And the latest game I played was FireRed, but the most recent is Blue.

Come on, this is too easy!

Jolteon was the only critter in the original who could learn the only bug-type attack move, which was the only thing super-effective against psychics. The bugs themselves couldn't fight the psychics, because most of them were all poison-types too.

Plus, I've always disliked Pikachu, and Jolteon was a good alternative.
Ditto. I always thought that sting move was a good trump card; it worked well agianst psychics (which, if raised right, were damn near invincible) and was a strong enough move on it's own.

Apologies if a "This" would have sufficed.

You do have to take personal taste into consideration for something like this but the moment you mention "look like Digimon" you lose all credibility. That argument has been made since pokemon #152, Chikorita, meant as little then as it does now. Its like pulling out the Hitler card in a debate.

All of the new pokemon are still being designed by the same guy and, in my opinion, have gotten better with each generation. Except G/S/C, though I'm sure the entire internet will disagree with me there. But if they took off their rose colored glasses for a moment they'd realize how mediocre G/S/C was. They stuffed as many new and arbitrary features in as they could and didn't give a thought to polishing up any of them, and I feel the pokemon suffered from the same design philosophy. Quantity over quality. Ironic since it added the least number of new pokemon of any generation. The whole second generation strikes me as being unplanned, as if they didn't expect pokemon to be as popular as it was and suddenly found a demand to keep it running. So they rushed a second generation out the door. With the 3rd generation they were starting to get into it but suffered from trying to milk the franchise too much, and with the 4th generation they're now getting the hang of it.

Vaporeon was my first, even though it's probably one of my least favourites.
Do not question my logic.

I've always had a soft spot for Dark Types, so Umbreon is the obvious choice.
Most recent game I've played is Pearl, though ironically I've got every other Eeveelution apart from Umbreon XD

Umbreon. He look cool. Although I never particularly cared for eevee or any of its evolutions(I never liked that you can only ever have one). The most recent game I have played is Diamond version(The RPG elements are still some the best in gaming by the way).
