Definately Wrex, no doubt.

He's got 4 testicles for God's sake. 4 Balls. 4!

Edit: Don't know how I got that? Watch this.

One part of Mass Effect that was somewhat unbalanced was the fact that having two combat oriented characters made the game far too easy. Because of that, I ended up tooling around with Ashley all the time - she grew on me somewhat.

Jenkins, without a doubt. He just left such a huge impression upon me. I will never forget the 20 seconds he was in my party.

Seriously, Garrus.

Seriously? Two combat characters is actually a lot of dead weight. You need some tech just to open half the doors and boxes. And biotics makes it more fun, not to mention better crowd control. You want seriously unbalanced fights, roll an adept with decryption and bring along Liara with her biotics and Wrex for brute strength and another warp. With two singularities/lifts and three warps/throws, the enemies will never stay on the ground.

Anyway...Wrex, for sure. Not only could he get in a mean one-liner, he had a great back story and really tugged on my heart strings out on Virmire.

Jenkins. Leroy Jenkins.

It's no competition. He is the best character even though he had one of the shortest screen-time of the possible squad-mates.

Ok, probably something to do with our differing playing styles, but I found having at least two combat oriented characters allowed you to rip right through firefights and that biotics were massively overrated. While I enjoyed the occasional throw, lifts and singularities bothered me to no end because stuff would be flying everywhere and became difficult to aim at. Given that opening all the locks in the game wasn't really necessary for amassing loads of credits, I didn't put too much emphasis on tech stuff. Bringing Tali for geth missions was usually enough, just to get Armatures off your back, but with two assault rifles most geth just melted like butter.

Maybe I should do another playthrough... about time to try something new.

Garrus Vakarian, with Wrex and Tali close behind. He was not the most useful combat companion, but his backstory, personality and appearance appealed to me most out of all the characters. His renegade leanings, combined with his well-intentioned naivete and awkwardness, made him an instant favorite in my books.

Well I'll join the chorus and chant out the name 'Wrex' because he really is my favourite. He's easily the funniest, possessing a dry wit that makes having him around very useful, he also is quite tough able to take a lot of damage and of course he has a very interesting and deep personality and back story that make him a very interesting and well rounded character. Wrex, rocks.

My second favourite has got to be Ashley because despite her sometimes controversial beliefs you can sort of tell she is trying to change her values and is by no means a true racist. She too has a great sense of humour and likeable aspects to her personality and by combining her faults with the things you like about her, she ends up being very human and likeable a character.

Hell in my version of Mass Effect, Wrex became Shepard's best friend and Ashley became his lover, hence there was no other choice as to who I was going to bring with me for the final mission.

First time I played it, I used Garrus all the time. I love that guy. But recently, I've really come to love having Liara at my side. You're in a tight spot, surrounded by enemies. Is there anything better than when they all start floating around helplessly? No.

Combine Garrus' half combat, half tech abilities and Liara's Biotics and you have some excellent back-up. Especially since Garrus' high decryption skills got me some pretty sweet combat items/powerups.

I played a... what was the name? Half Soldier half Engineer. All the most useful tech mines plus the lovely Sniper Rifle training. I always took Wrex and Tali. Wrex's personality clashed very loudly with mine and Tali's, so he was fun to have around, plus his backstory is excellent.

However, Tali is my favourite. Her character design kicks ass, her voice actor is amazingly good, I love the backstory of both her and the Quarians in general, and she was quick with her shotgun.
