I got a little curious today so I did some research about unlucky Fridays, the idea of Friday being unlucky mainly comes from religion;

Friday was the day Adam and Eve were kicked out of Eden
Friday was the day of the great flood
It was a Friday when the Temple of Solomon destroyed
Christ was killed on a Friday (hence good Friday)

Friday also used to be executioners day in Roman times and carried over to hangmans day in Britain

Christianity also tried to convince the world that Friday was a bad day as it is the day of pagan sabbat
It is also Freydas day, the Godess of love and fertility (also know as Frigg or if you go back to the Roman era Venus)

Well that?s Fridays but what about the number 13;

A witches Coven should always consist of 13 members
Legend has it that if 13 people sit down to dinner then they shall all die within a year
If you have 13 letters in your name, you will have the devil's luck (Jack the Ripper, Charles Manson, Jeffrey Dahmer, Theodore Bundy and Albert De Salvo all have 13 letters in their names
The Chinese however consider the number 13 lucky
The ancient Egyptians believed the number 13 therefore symbolized death ? not in terms of dust and decay, but as a glorious and desirable transformation. Though Egyptian civilization perished, the symbolism conferred on the number 13 by its priesthood survived, only to be corrupted by subsequent cultures who came to associate 13 with a fear of death instead of a reverence for the afterlife.

So unlucky Friday + Unlucky 13 = a really bad day

Friday the 13th was also when King Phillip of France betrayed the Templars

***This lot was re-written from a fair few places on line and I tried to cross check as much as I could but I love a good debate if anybody wants to query any of it***

lol I disagree. Mainly because I don't believe in bad luck to start with. I'm sure if you took the time to search up many of the other numbers you'd find just as much crap to go along with it. You can always find what you're looking for somewhere on the Internet, regardless if it's true or not.

In fact: Friday has been a great day for me. The subway ride was short, and I received an email back from a job interview with a music software/community site I thought I botched saying they really liked talking to me and that my ideas were creative and helpful.

I narrowed down the problems with my new computer to the old IDE hard-drive, and despite being hung-over all day class went well.

I was a little freaked out when I learnt that my math exam was Friday the 13th, but it actually went pretty well. It would have been bad though if I had been unable to secure a calculator as my brother "borrowed" mine without asking, or even informing me.

that's just because you aren't in tune with the correct things, of course numbers and such mean things and ghosts are real, you just aren't tuned correctly to pick up on those things :p

I got a nasty spider bite sometime during the night... my arm is all swollen and itchy.... does that count as bad luck?

It's just another day, people. Indeed, I'm rather happy it's come around because today marks the start of a three-day weekend on this leg of my work rotation.

However, I reserve the right to declare the day a disaster if the beer store is out of Guinness when I go there tonight.

Good day thus far, though I just got up. Beginning of summer vacation=sleep until noon.

I thought Friday the 13th got started as a myth because the entire Knights Templar organization was killed on that day.

I got an unconditional offer for entry into the exact course I want in uni even though I haven't gotten the results of my standard grades back yet.

So pretty good for me, so far.

Just have to point this out, but Jack The Ripper isn't his real name... If it WAS, they wouldn't have had such a hard time finding him would they?
Edit: And my name is 13. My real name.
oh shit my name has 13 letters in it. does this mean i will become a mass murderer. Wait what about middle names don't they count.

I'll take an unlucky Friday over a hungover Monday or even a no-underpants Tuesday.

GO weekend!

they weren't killed on that day, it was the day a lot of them were arrested en masse. cause after that the church being the nice and good people they are had to torture them and get "confessions" out of them, also make the shroud of turin as well, the face on the shroud is Jacques DeMolay the last leader of the Knights Templar

My real name consists of 13 numbers as well, but I don't have bad luck on Firday 13th, only in most of the 365/366 days of the year. I consider bad luck and good luck to be an ancient way of explaining coincidence.
