Theyre part of that elite group of Internet Punching bags.

Just next to Jonas brothers fans, Twilight Fans & Miley Cirus Fans.

Edit:

The thing is, Its linked too close to fetish. If you created a thread & said "i like BDSM" we'd all take a step back & let someone like Ultrajoe Swing the hammer.
Oh god as long as he wears leather while he swings...mmm...oh yes.

Sorry...what are we talking about...I tend to black out when thoughts of bondage and hammers are brought up. Apparently I don't have the proper blood supply to function properly at both ends at the same time.

You got the wrong version, I can't be bothered to actually go searching for the version that is correct so I re-created it in a few seconds
I used the incorrect version because it said "FURRIES some are worse than others."(and that is exactly what I think about furries.)

Pretty much this.

HOWEVER:

In the pantheon of terrible people on the interwebs:

Pedophiles < Furries < Necrophiliacs < People who talk about babby < Nazis < everyone else
I find it odd that you didn't mention the murdering rapists who stalk the internet looking for less than groupers to physically pillage and leave in a dumpster.

Because I have to say I'd rank them even lower than pedophiles.

As usual, XKCD relays my feelings on these things better than my words ever could:

I don't mind them, but just keep it to a minimum around me, like everything else.

personally it's not my bag but i try not to hold it against people. i'm a little biased against yiffers as i was mentally scarred by an episode of CSI in high school (America was not ready for a fursuit orgy on network TV) but lord knows i have my share of bizarre fetishes.

And even if the current furry subculture on the internet got its start from rule 34 of Disney's Robin Hood or Sonic the Hedgehog, it's certainly evolved past that point and become a true subculture distinct from the fetish that spawned it. If anything, it currently resembles a cross between therianthropy and the aforementioned rule 34, with most members probably falling right square in the middle.

Pardon me but what's rule 34?
Behold mere mortal the rules of the internet!!!

Well you assumed wrong mate. Because it wasn't aimed at you. I just hijacked your post a little in order to get my point across to all the readers who might be flaming all the furries.

That's all. : )

I think fury is a little ''meh''. Tho I have nothing against people that likes it.
(I'm a lolicon)
Now the problem with admitting that is that most people will immediately translate it into "I'm a paedophile" and see nothing wrong with bashing you forever.

Also, me too.

And here is another Internet Punching Bag, as it were.
Gotta say, furries are fine people, some of the nicer ones online some days.
Lolicon-ers (?) too.
It seems the cutesy art groups are usually very nice and well conducted.

Me? I wouldn't say I'm a furry, but I like me some catgirls, and don't mind going a bit beyond, but zoophiles? Hell no.
And loli, yeah, I can dig on the whole /cake/ thing, but sometimes, just, wow. More than a bit fucked up.

Since I know quite a bit about furries, and have a couple as friends, lemme just rebuke someones' lack of knowledge:

You must be kidding, the origins of your fandom are deeply seeded within the confines of obtuse sexual fetishes. The very fandom alone was created by people who dressed up as animals and had sex with each other. You even created a term for it, "Yiffing" after the sound a fox makes during mating. To pretend that only a small portion of your fandom is involved with those pervisions is straight up denial.

Anime as a fandom exists in the marketplace almost entirely without fetish porn and hentai. In fact, the hentai market is a product of the anime fandom, where as in the furry fandom its vice versa. The non-adult portion of the fandom is the product of the fetish.
So yes, furries have a good population of sick fucks in their midst, but so does every other group, ever.
It really is only a small portion of the furry population that are 'suiters', as most are content with RPing or just looking at pics.
The "yiffing" thing, as you call it, is a misconception. 'Yiff' was originally a greeting, made by some dude who wanted to make a new language, based on furry-dom. Yiff was the most polite, happy greeting. And then the fandom twisted it into stupidity. I honestly hate about half the bullshit words they use, really, but this, because of the why's and how's, I hate possibly the most.
And no, furry is actually an art style, you could say, and the "adult" portion of said is the degeneration, the byproduct, like hentai is to anime. Also, furry is more of a genre, for both anime and hentai.

But I digress, this mental choice has been made by you, for you, and I doubt I could change your mind.

Good night.

Furries are up there with scene kids IMO, it's just a stranger way of attention seeking, because let's face it, people who are furries will blatantly let people know that they are one, in some way or another.

Oh bugger, someone brought this up.

Blanket statement; meh.

In reference to the last guy; Pegghead, I am delighted to tell you that I myself enjoy the pure artwork, mostly. I have spent the little time I get surfing the web and have come accross these and let me tell you; I was somewhat interested, like a boy is interested in his favorite cartoon show.

Comics involving anthropormophic characters (I'd rather not use the term Furries, cause it sounds like a nickname for roadkill) have brought out a lot of strength to the story, and certainly liven things up a bit from your everyday Joe. Anyone who saw Road Rovers knew that. If they were Human than you could have just called them X-men; Rejects and would have made two episodes.

But then those weilding the torches and pitchforks come up and whine "But what about teh furry porn!" Yes, what about it. At first I considered the idea that in no way could something like that could ever turn me on. with ensureness that I will not be amused, I willingly headed for one man of the hour; Dr. Comet.

Having a good study of what I was dealing with I realised yes it kinda did turn me on, but thats when it hit; there already human. not entirely human, yes but human still. same human emotion, samilar skeletral structure, Replace them regular people and you'd get the same result, only they'd much more cuddlier. Take away the fur, ears and tail and theres your everyday porn.

I last mentioned that I was mostly interested only. thats because of those whose artwork leaps over the border of tasteless, but thats the thing. THOSE. not all, those. You can't really base opinions of a whole bunch of monkeys by the sick little monkey at the back. you can't say Horo from Spice and Wolf was bad because you saw some picture an @$$hole put up in rule 34 of her. Horo brought out much more character development and made Wolf and Spice more than a documentary on the stock exchange, despite not fully knowing anything about clothes but she's mature about it yet still seems innocent and childish.

My idea is that take away those who take things to far on either spectrum and let the new race of understanding, friendship and peace take its start in the forum, considering the posts I read, will be a long yet glorious process.

except there's plenty of furries who DON'T do that, only you have no idea they're furries so you don't notice them.

Jeeze...In general, the haters should lighten up and the furries (I sort of consider myself one, but not to the zoophile degree - actually far from it) need to stop taking shit so seriously and make so much drama out of it. Don't feed the trolls etc.

I like the art. In fact, my ex once drew a picture of herself as an anthropomorphic ferret-lady and me as a fox-guy since we were told we acted liked aforementioned animals. She has no idea what furries are and just thought it would be a cute idea, like Looney Toons or something.

So, the art can be very cute and unusual, so I really do like it. Furries themselves I'm fine with, totally indifferent. However, as always, it's the obnoxious stereotypes who drown out the genuinely nice people. People who are furries who just like the art-style don't make as many websites with as many members as the raging-horny-Lola-Bunny-fuckathon furry-types, and so they are drowned out.

I've met a handful of Furries in my lifetime, they invited me to join a chatroom, so I did for curiosity's sake. Met some very nice people and only had the one pervert who tried to warp the rest of the room's mind. Then I went to a different chat and found it full of people who were discussing which Anthro-character they most wanted to fuck until they bled.

As always, there's good and bad. I'm indifferent because I need to meet a person and know them before I judge them. Basing the whole person off of very little information makes my kidneys bleed with annoyance.

Wow there's more furries here than I expected.

I mean for a niche audience it seems to be quite large proportionally in this quaint community.

Spoilered for possibly offensive content. One word: yiff.

That is why I cannot stand furries. Yiffs are freaking disgusting. If yiffs did not exist, I don't think I would have any problem at all with furries and I might even make an anthropomorphic alter ego thing for myself. But every time the word "furry" pops into my head, I don't think of an adorable little hamster or my old tarantula. No, the image that comes to mind is a fox-like creature ramming Mewtwo in the ass.

And it's all because of the Internet.

I for one am not bothered by them, just like gays and stuff. I figure as long as you don't push it onto me it's your own business. Furry porn is ok like once in a blue moon you will stumble onto something interesting but not like a searched subject for me. All in all, as long as you don't push it I'm cool with it.
