Yeah something's up with that poll man i just guessed what was meant to mean over 18.

I am 19 and Australian and I'm pretty sure the way I learned this stuff was:

>18 means greater than 18
<18 means less than 18

But then again I never went well in maths. (yes we say maths not math)

I'm not good at math but doesn't the bigger end face the bigger number?
It's just the standard for different sides of the Atlantic (So I believe, it certainly WAS this way). Same as DD/MM/YY and MM/DD/YY
The bigger side faces 18 in both answers so doesn't that mean no matter what side you write X on 18 is bigger?
Yeh, that was the second problem. :)
I assume it's either changed over the years, or that my teachers were just copying things off the Internet, but I was always taught the 'American' method.

Edit: Ah, ignore me, I see what you mean. Never mind, I was being thick.

But yeh, OP needs to flip that 'greater than' symbol... and what about people that are 18, are they not included?

I think basically everyone already said it, but they all say "under 18."

In any case, I'm 18, and male, turning 19 in just over a week.

Results after 76 votes: OLD GUY SAUSAGEFEST

...and it doesn't help I'm in that stark majority.

Uhh... that's not quite how the 'greater than' and 'less than' symbols work.

OT:So I was just thinking, what is the general age and gender of my fellow escapists?
Just wondering.
You know that
"Male, <18" and
"Male, 18>" both mean "Male and under the age of 18" don't you? Also, what if you actually are 18? I would suggest changing the options to
"Male, <18"
"Male, =>18"
etc...

Female, 18.

I'm actually quite suprised at the small number of female votes... I thought there would be more than that at least!

I'm an 18 year old male, and I have no idea how I'm supposed to answer your poll.
