i've known people who chose relationships over grades, and they dropped out of college, have huge amounts of debt, live with their parents with a part-time job, and still have no idea what they want out of an alleged "soul mate" other than being good in bed.
on the other hand, two of my best friends dropped out of high school (before knowing each other), eventually got together, and have a home and reasonably strong financial independence.
personally, i don't think dropping school for anything is a good move, or at least putting your grades at unnecessary risk, but then i guess it depends what contingency plans you have in case things go to shit.
