No I would not, to me other people are worthless unless proven otherwise so unless you are worth something to me you are as good as dead.
Smart choice. I personally see giving up my seat as a strategically unsound option...

Or, change it to or. Also, make it singular. Woman/child. I only get one seat afterall; unless I'm American in which case I might get two (don't burn me, recent thread has given stereotypes life). Yes, I'm also a pedantic fuckwit.

OT: No.

Well, wouldn't today's ships come with enough lifeboats to handle the amount of people onboard (something the titanic didn't have due to the image of being "unsinkable")

But anyway, situation: No, I like living a bit too much for that, I doubt I woul be on the last one anyway, be on the first one I get to. but I might suggest kicking a chav off the lifeboat.

In most cases I'd actually prioritize others before myself. However, that does not apply in situations where we are anywhere except on the ground. So, at sea, in the air and in SPAAAAACE~, I'm taking that seat/parachute/escape pod because you can bet your ass that I will be scared shitless.

Oh sure, I would love to give up my seat to a complete stranger who is for all I know a complete ass hole who doesn't deserve to live, and all because she is a woman. No thanks, first come first serve and if all the life boats were taken for some mysterious reason I would swim, granted I wouldn't last very long.

Yes. I wouldn't like it and the moment they are out of earshot all sorts of unsavory things will come out of my mouth with great frequency and gusto.

I watch Ultimate Survival. Titanic took some time before sinking, so I would find a way to make a flutuable device. Like using doors.
Ahhh yeah. In fact I'd make something better than their measly life boats.

not because they are a woman or a child, if they are actually of importance not just of a certain gender or age group then properly yes.

I'd accuse everyone of being to sexist that women are important than me. If I really want to, I could create gravity or something.

I'm sure the other dozen or so people on that lifeboat would welcome you with open arms after you did that
Could always throw them out too. Aw yeah. Private lifeboat to sail away from the tragedy, very... romantic, would make a good movie ending scene with the sunset and some happy tune in the background.

Other option is kidnapping some kiddo just to get them all sentimental and give me a spot. Less fun however.

during the Titanic incident, hardly any of the lifeboats were used to their full potential, leaving many to die needlessly in the cold water. I'd say yes and no as an answer on this question, as I care little for the seat as long as I still get room on the lifeboat.

Well there's that whole bit about how now cruise ships have to have enough lifeboats for all the passengers so it's a non-issue. But to be honest I'm so poor I'd probably be stuck with those unlucky bastards who got sealed off in the lower parts of the ship.

But for argument's sake if I could think of a really cool way to die I'd gladly give up my seat.

No. I value my own life more highly than that of some random stranger, no matter their age/gender. And why shouldn't I?

Certainly no reason for discrimination based on gender.

Children can't reasonably compete with adults though, so they can have the seat.
