Okay, I searched this, didn't find it, hope it's not a repeat.

Just kind of curious as to how many people identify with a particular HP House.

Also - In the HP universe, if there was a Wizarding school anywhere in North America, where would you put it?

EDIT:
You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve, and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart;

You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true
And unafraid of toil;

Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,
if you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind;

Or perhaps in Slytherin
You'll make your real friends,
Those cunning folks use any means
To achieve their ends.

EDIT:
Well, besides the character of the House and its members, other things to consider are the House's location and element. According to JK, each House represents one of the Four Elements.

Griffindor - Fire
Ravenclaw - Air
Slytherin - Water
Hufflepuff - Earth

The Griffindor and Ravenclaw Houses are in the top towers. The Slytherin House is under the lake, near the Potions room, and the Hufflepuff House is near the kitchens.

Terribly sorry, but I have only read a few of the books, and that was a while ago. I'd go with Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw, though, because Slytherin is filled with assholes and Griffindor is filled with heroic assholes.

And in North America? Close enough to me that I can torch it.

Ravenclaw because it has a cool name, I'd go Griffon but you gotta love the cool name of Ravenclaw.

None. From what I remember, the Slytherins were all antagonistic unattractive dicks, and the Griffindors were pretty boy heroic douches, and the Hufflepuffs were too smart and academic for my tastes (as in the only thing they were interested in was academics [right?]). They're all too extreme. I can't quite remember what the Raven claws were for though.

They're all okay. Slytherin and Ravenclaw would probably be prime choices, but otherwise it doesn't really matter considering how Harry Potter got away with it in the book. Y'know, just ask the hat, lol.

All of the houses represent okay qualities. It'd be stupid to pretend that you have only one of them. Bravery is not opposite to cunning and backstabbery. Intelligence and strive to learn is not opposite to either. And so on.

While Slytherin wasn't really shown in positive light in the earlier books, it would be stupid to assume that everyone in there would be assholes. That's just outright demonization based on behaviour of few. Wasn't there a "good" character from Slytherin, anyways? What's his name, that alchemy teacher from one of the later books who replaced what's his name when they couldn't find a defense teacher (I haven't read the books since my early teen years).

Meh, green and snakes are better then gold and gryphons in my book.

Salem maybe? just for the lulz?

anyways, not a really big potter fan, but i think i'd end up with the clever bird people. If i recall properly, the password to get into the house was actually just a riddle was it not?

Why is a raven like a writing desk? Because you can never spend to much time with one without getting a little depressed.

If my memory serves me right, it was Ravenclaws who were the smart and academic, and Hufflepuff were kind of outliers, hah. But then again, I haven't read the books in years and don't care to.

But I must add, there were positive slytherin characters. At least one took a pretty major role in one of the latter books, I forget his name though. Snape isn't exactly evil either.

Also, for antagonistic unattractive dicks, the "Draco in Leather Pants" trope exists for a reason. Hah.

Now I'm going to sound like such a Harry Potter nerd...
It's actually Ravenclaw that's for the smart kids. Hufflepuff is sort of for the rest of the kids that aren't qualified for the other three houses.

OT: I'd like to go to Slytherin, but I'd probably go to Hufflepuff if the Sorting Hat would choose the house for me.

Ooh, Ravenclaw takes an early lead. Hey, one of me best mates is a Slytherin, and I know there's folks out there who prefer them greatly to Griffindor.

Mebbe it woulda been better to suggest that people who know HP apply to this poll? 0_o

I never have read a Harry Potter book nor watched any of the movies. This stuff started becoming really popular when I was still in elementary school, and yet I never felt any compulsion to touch it. In other words... I like buttons, I guess.

I'd be torn between Ravenclaw and Slytherin. I can't figure out which I'd be more likely to fall into.

Does anyone else find the Slytherin part of the poem lacking?

Anyway, Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff.

I really want to say Slytherin mainly because I imagine Snape to actually be Alan Rickman.
And Rickman is teh sex. And his voice...*Sighs*

...Sorry, where was I again?

But really, probably be with Hufflepuff.
