Who wants a thread that isn't about politics and kids who got murdered?

So, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is 28-year old franchise that has been adapted into every medium possible. And like most comic book franchises, they have ranged from campy and silly, to dark and serious. Since I am a fan of the franchise as a whole I want to know, which version of TMNT is your favorite?

The 1987 animated series is, and shall forever remain, my favourite.

Used to love it when I was a lad.

I'm intrigued.
There has to be at least one guy here who's not blinded by nostalgia.

I'm not sure what series was my favorite, but my favorite turtle is Michaelangelo.

The 2003 series is by far better done the 1980's one. Better action, better stories, and far better characters. It works out as being closer to the original comics while still being kid friendly.

1987! They're heroes in a half shell and they're greeeeeeen.

I will be singing that all day now. I liked Rafael because he's cool, but rude. On the other hand I like Michaelagelo, as we know, he is in fact, a party dude.

Plus that cartoon pizza looked delicious

39 here
im still pissed that cartoon in 1987 practically killed the rpg. it was a good game but no one would touch something everyone viewed as being based on a kids show.
That was like the first merchandise ever made for the turtles, right? It even had art by Eastman and Laird themselves. These days it'd be hard to find Turtles merchandise that has the all-red-masks version of them.

Nothing beats the Archie comics in my opinion. Just childish enough to be able to feel serious when it was supposed to.

I'm going with the original Eastman and Laird.

A little gritty, a little intense and still fun and surreal. (It doesn't hurt that I love the Palladium RPG as well)

why is this a poll? there is only one correct answer. The 1987 animated series.

...in truth I have never seen the 2003 or 2012 animated series.

You should check them out. They're both pretty good (and in my opinion, better than the 80's series)

About that.
I know 4Kids isn't exactly known for their great quality(that might have sounded like an understatement to you), but trust me, that series was pretty good. There were some problems that I could probably pin on 4Kids(the very limited voice-acting and those terrible last few seasons where they go to the future), but I promise you that the good outweighs the bad by a lot.

alright, ill give them a shot since you endorse it. Now ill need to find them.

My hated of 4kids does run deep though, especially their actions against yugioh the abridged series which i love.

I grew up watching the real life version of the awesomeness that is TMNT the movie, so that takes my favorite adaption. Never actually seen the cartoon that spawned the movie though.

They're actually all on youtube. I guess they've been so busy trying to get littlekuriboh that they've never gotten to that(that and they're all owned by Nick now).

Mind you, I haven't actually seen those last few seasons that I called terrible. But from what I've seen and heard, they look like what you'd expect a TMNT series by 4kids to look like.

Also, the show for the first few seasons try to be a lot closer to the original comics, so it won't be much like the 80's series.

Ahem, it's actually based on a comicbook series, while taking some elements from the first cartoon. A lot of people think that series is where TMNT started due to the comics being pretty obscure.
