I've been cheated on, and it sucks.

I wasn't particularly invested in the relationship. She was my first gf, and it was really more of a "Sure, why not." thing for me. The thing that hurt the most was that she'd always go on about how devoutly Catholic she is (I'm not Catholic) and she cheated on me with one of my best friends (also a devout Catholic). To say I've had bad luck when it comes to Catholic people would be a touch of an understatement. It's not the faith, it's just some of the people.

I used to pretty well. I could go from 'feigning awkward boyish charm' to 'overconfident uninterested' I hate to sound full of myself but I've always been very good at reading people. Makes it easy to tell what a girl wants. Well, as far as flirting. Beyond that women are a mystery even to themselves.

this is massively OT and i'm new here - mods please be kind!

But yeh, given the variety and choice in faith systems available; it's hard to trust people who blindly claim allegiance to the most sinister and corrupt organisation human history has ever known.

*no offence intended*

With the amount of people on here who are staunchly athiest, I don't think that you'll offend many people. There are plenty of people on here who share your views, and I haven't seen them punished, but I tend to stay away from religious and political discussions. It's just too polarized, and someone ends up being offended, even if the points you make are backed up with fact, and not just some emotional outburst.

Sadly, I'm the drink will have to wait until next year. Also sadly, this wouldn't be the first time I've helped contribute to the derailment of my own thread. I once had a thread that turned into 300 some odd posts about masturbation of all things. XD

Chances are, if it has to do with sex/relationships, it's from me. Or if it isn't, it will be soon. XD
I enjoy your threads because of the candor people have in explaining their own situations and the lack of judgement they have when they review others' situations.

As for the cheating, I've had it done to me twice. It's really an awful thing, but I've since come to terms with it for at least one of them. Now I understand where her head was at and I get that the reason that she looked outside the relationship was because in her mind at least our relationship was already pretty much over. It still sucks mightily, but I don't think I would judge people nearly as harshly as I once did for that.

I don't flirt, at least not consciously. And people have thought that I was flirting, which led to some really awkward moments.

I don't flirt that much. If I like someone in that way I tell the person I'm interested. This doesn't always work out good though, since in most situations it's the thrill of the chase that turns both individuals on. I guess, you kind of have to play hard to get, to keep the other person interested. You should really check out the different pick up artist's way of flirting though. My favourite is gambler's stealth method. If you don't know what a pick up artist is, I suggesting reading The game by Neil Strauss. Great book, not only for the tips on how to flirt.

Not sure really. Though around girls, I do tend to utter mmore inane stuff than I would do normally as well as try to make tenuous connections between something they say and my own experiences. Being as hopeless as I am, I'm not sure I'd even be aware if I was flirting or not.

It has been pointed out to me (not that I don't notice myself) that I tend to switch to a completely different voice when speaking to attractive girls (bar and shop staff mostly :)) than when talking to guys. Not that it gets me anywhere.

Not the best at it, but my natural way of bumbling into it makes it pretty charming I guess.
So it's bad in a good way! :D

I don't. I get hit on.

I am completely oblivious to it until it starts getting obvious and overtly sexual, though. At which point it becomes horribly annoying.
You'd think it wouldn't happen often, but it does. I guess being female means you're allowed to act like a horny creep.

I feel like I'm terrible at it all the time, because I'm never able to get the people I want.

However, I've found lately that in the off chance I actually feel like trying on someone, I'm actually quite good and can get results. Problem is these are generally the girls I don't have much interest in... I just do it to make sure I still can lol.

I'm a natural flirt, tbh, *I* don't think I'm flirting, but being really friendly and chatty with new people who just so happen to be to opposite sex.
It gets called out for flirting, even if I'm not attracted to the person.

Haha oh they do!! You never make an ass out of yourself and with your seductive ways you don't need to flirt ;-)
