It wasn't racist. He is payed to play POPULAR music (read: Pop, Rap, etc) and a Latin Mix CD doesn't fall in that GENRE of music. Nothing to do with race. At the same time however, the DJ is a complete douche-bag. He should of just accepted the request.

I for one hate popular music quite simply because it breeds people like this that think Popular music is the only music worth listening to and worth encouraging. Yuck... scum.

The guy should've said "If you get an extra few minutes, can you play this song-my girl loves it if you get what I mean", I bet he would've played it to not be a cock blocker. But no, he wasn't being racist at all.

since when have hispanics been allowed to pull the race card..?
I've always wondered that. Hispanics are caucasian, you can't pull the race card if you're white. Especially if you're a white male.
lol, now THESE are racist statements by definition.

Saying you can't complain of racism because of your race is racism. The OP is probably confusing Hispanic with Latino though.

DJ is way in the clear though. I would have turned them down too and it would have been nothing to do with racism and everything to do with it being a bizarre request. Yeah, we're playing rap/hip hop here, not salsa dumbass. That'd be like asking a DJ at grandpa's 80th birthday to play something that's not from the 1930's. He'd look at you and say, "uh, you realize this place is filled with old people right? No one but you is going to like it, so no."

That's not even close to being racist. Unless the DJ said or did something off color I don't see what he did as racist. I've been called racist for calling someone dumb before. I said "that guy is an idiot". Not "that N-word is an idiot." It's tiring being called a racist for stupid things and this is no different.
