The sun won't supernova for much more then a million years, so I doubt we will survive that long with global warming and all. Since Athiest I laugh at the concept of a god let alone a god doing it. Snapping it's fingers to make life is just as jokeable as him doing the same to end it. Most likely it will be upon our own doomed effort to wage war with each other. Luckily when we are gone the planet will still be on the majority, just fine.

Well actually before the sun "devours us", it'll burn off our atmosphere and we'll all suffocate.

Global warming is only the latest in a very long line of anthropic eco-disasters predicted by people (read: wackos). Much like global cooling, vanishing ozone layer, and the old gem of a burning atmosphere will be forgotten in 20 years when the doom and gloom prediction does not come true, and a new one takes its place.

Also should sol stick to the plan it has roughly five billion years before it expands to a red giant.

Sorry guys the sun is not constantly expanding, going to explode, go super nova, collapse to a black hole, burn up the earth or any cool stuff. It could (if other stars are any indication) expand past the orbit of earth, but that might be an exaggeration, or it could not be, or the earth could be pushed away long before by the increasingly active sun, or all the above and the damn things gets sucked right back in to the sun as it expands anyway. Which would suck for all the people around, except they will have all burned up and died out because of an increasingly active sun. This will make the whole planet basically inhospitable in about a billion years or so (unless it decides to suddenly stop the 10% increase in activity per billion years it has evidenced.

Meteorite. Lot's of big ones cruising the galaxy at high speeds.

Not unlikely at all to get hit by one over in a very long period of time.
Can potentially do more damage than just wipe out all humans.

Definitely the sun engulfing the Earth. The only other thing on that list that could actually destroy the world is the Vogons, but I have it on good authority that we sent someone to Alpha Centauri to get them to build the bypass around Earth.

Of course, by the time the Sun expands, we will almost certainly be extinct, or at least unrecognisable as what we currently perceive to be human.

yeah but what about the humans that are immune to the swine flu? there are ppl that are unaffected or not really affected by it oh and the regular flu kills more ppl every year than swine flu and sars ever did
