I dream fairly regularly. But for me, most of my strongest nightmares come during lucid dreams - as soon as I realize I'm dreaming, some part of me rails at the idea and whatever dream it is immediately goes to hell. So I'm telling myself it's only a dream and trying to will myself awake while fighting to keep my dream-self alive as some horror attempts to rend me limb from limb. Some people call lucid dreaming the ability to do anything. The main "anything" my lucid dream-self does is cheat. Seriously - I once got cornered by a zombie horde and willed myself the ability to reverse time and try again. By the time I'd got myself awake, I'd had to reverse time FOUR TIMES to get myself out of being cornered by those damn zombies. Flight? Oh, it's great, I gave myself that boon the time I wound up fighting a ghoulish and lupine version of myself. (No one should have that many needle-sharp teeth, nor a mouth that stretches that far into the sides of one's face. If there's one thing that creeps me out it's any sort of major facial deformity, it's like my mind was TRYING to traumatize me.) Stumped him for about five seconds before HE figured out the trick too and flew after me. Got myself awake as he caught up.
