I know that! But i wasn't going to leave it out, i have some pretty good friends who are transgender.

...What? That makes no sense. It doesn't matter if you're friends with some transgendered people, it's still not a sexual orientation. I'm friends with some Hispanic people, but that doesn't mean "Hispanic" should be in the poll.

"Gay" and "straight" doesn't exist as it is portayed in the media. I wish I could find it, but there is a famous report running in America once a year for 50 years now. I don't know if it is still running. But consistently it has shown the same thing.

You have 10% of people who are 100% straight
You have a slighter large percentage of people who are mostly straight but with some homosexual fantasies.
You have another percentage of people who are slightly straight and with mostly homosexual fantasies.

Then you have bisexual people in the middle.

And the opposite for the homosexual end of the scale.

It amazed me to find this out. Viewing sexuality was never the same for me once I found out about this report.

I saw that report too. I disagreed with it though. You're either straight, gay, or bi. If you have mostly straight thoughts, surprise of surprises, you're straight.


It isn't difficult and doesn't need a complicated bell curve attached to it.

Exactly. In fact, I'll take it one step further. I would wager that most, if not all, of the escapists have had fantasies about beating the shit out of, or even killing someone. ("people who are mostly straight but with some homosexual fantasies.") does that mean we are partially murderers, or partially guilty of assault. No, of course not.

OT: I'm straight, but I live not even 30 minutes away from Canada, and there's just something about a French Canadian accent that drives me wild.

Agreed. Considering that sexuality is not a stationary thing, and more of a degree along a scale, then the absolutes listed here are uninformed. So, the only logical choice?

I'm totally into Canadians, you know. At least, some of them.

Or is that supposed to be a joke about the Canadian Girlfriend, a choice for those who've not had the sex to know what their sexuality is? If so, subtle. Too subtle for explanationless text, I'm afraid.

I'm not one of those uptight Liberal "don't hurt their feelings by confusing them" types. That's not what I'm getting at. I'm just very confused why people lump a mental condition which causes people to surgically mutilate themselves into conversations of sexual preference.

I remember when I was in High School it was quite fashionable to say you were bisexual because it was totally cool and edgy and Oh my God! Look at that kid shirking the MAN! Really, all it was was a way to get some of the sympathy aimed at the LGBT kids (My school, while not FULL-ON bumpkin, was in a very small, narrow-minded town), while still being free to pursue heterosexual relationships, which was all the fake-bi kids were actually interested in.

High Schoolers. Blech. They are adorable sometimes, but I have never for a moment of adulthood wished I was one again.

Well you've answered your own question. I know you're not trying to start a fight and by God trust me neither am I, but if you believe being transgendered is a mental condition, you would pretty much have to believe that homosexuality is, too (although when I think about it, I guess ANY orientation is technically a mental condition).

You've drawn the line and called their alterations "mutilations," but to some people (again, not starting a fight, please), homosexuality is just as abominable. Heterosexuality, homosexuality, and transgender...ality (?) are all part of our individual identities, and I guess I think it's important to understand that. These aren't (for the most part) sick, fetishistic sexual perverts. Many of them don't even go under the knife, they just choose to live however makes them happy, with whoever makes them happy, and as someone who has never had a heterosexual relationship end well, I can hardly blame them for that.

Hetero-asexual; don't want or crave any type of sexual activity, but kissing and hugging is fine. Or rather, the thought of it is better than actually doing it (I'm not big of physical contact). I suspect this is one of the reasons why I'm fine with my long-distance relationship.

Actually, I'm not even 100% certain on the heterosexual part. I've only dated (2) men, but I have found woman attractive even if I've never been inclined to date them. Then again, I've never been big on the whole dating scene in general anyway. I just don't care that much.
