I don't really hate EA as a company, I just detest their business practices. But yeah, they publish way too much to avoid imo.BloatedGuppy said:The only company I really "hate" is EA, and they have their withered necromancer hands in so many pies I've given up trying to evade them.
I agree with you 100% I remember reading a while back about a System Shock 2 remake mod someone was doing with Unreal Engine. They shortly received a cease and desist e-mail from the EA legals. The letter was very rude and condescending. Funny thing, they didn't have the System Shock name among their Intellectual Properties in the Copyright Infringement section.Fappy said:I don't really hate EA as a company, I just detest their business practices. Lol legal fail. You'd think in a corporation so big their legal department would have tabs on their most important capital. Their IP.cjspyres said:I agree with you 100% I remember reading a while back about a System Shock 2 remake mod someone was doing with Unreal Engine. Seriously. I'll even provide the link so I don't look like a EA bashing fanboy. Or something of that type.Fappy said:Lol legal fail. Holy crap... all you need to do is CTR-F for "System" and it turns up 0 results regarding System Shock. Did the guy who got the infringement notice bring that up?cjspyres said:Seriously. I suppose they've gotten so used to owning so much stuff, they have to stop and think "Wait, Don't we own that?"

Im not sure who this is aimed at, but I think you might have replied to the wrong thread, this isnt a EA SUCKS thread.Shawn MacDonald said:I can't understand how you can loathe something that does not effect you in any way. It's okay to hate EA if you worked for them and they laid you off. Don't see the point because you can just avoid their products. Always confused by these threads, did EA punch your girlfriend in the vagina when she was pregnant?
EDIT: Sorry, I keep quoting the wrong people, Im still not used to this forum layout.Stormz said:I don't buy games from companies I hate. Sometimes it is hard to avoid though. I'm not a fan of EA but they've consumed so many companies it's nearly impossible to avoid them 100%. So I try to minimize the games I purchase from them. Kingdoms of Amulur is the last game I buy under EA for a very long time. I also don't buy from Bioware or Ubisoft anymore either.
I think the only companies I can actually say I like is Bethesda and CDProjekt.
This. Origin's terms of service are the only thing that separate me from Mass Effect 3, Crysis 2, and Battlefield 3. It's not that I hate them as a publisher, I hate what they're doing to the digital distribution market.Fappy said:I don't really hate EA as a company, I just detest their business practices.
