Why do you keep buying their products and supporting them?

Please wait for the poll to show up before replying.

The only company I really "hate" is EA, and they have their withered necromancer hands in so many pies I've given up trying to evade them.

I don't really hate EA as a company, I just detest their business practices. But yeah, they publish way too much to avoid imo.

Ubisoft, wont buy any games that are affected by all the usual reasons. Looks good that Rayman Origins will be a combo breaker though! I haven't bought their games in a while and I wont unless they start changing.

Not entirely serious, maybe.

The only companies I really "hate" are the ones that make games I think are shitty, like Infinity Ward.

And I don't buy games that I think are shitty and by extension support shitty companies.

Companies that can make good games, but have their heads up their own asses is a different story. (Ubisoft)

I haven't bought an Ubisoft game in 3 or 4 years, so I'd wager I fall into the I don't category.

I agree with you 100% I remember reading a while back about a System Shock 2 remake mod someone was doing with Unreal Engine. They shortly received a cease and desist e-mail from the EA legals. The letter was very rude and condescending. Funny thing, they didn't have the System Shock name among their Intellectual Properties in the Copyright Infringement section.

Lol legal fail. You'd think in a corporation so big their legal department would have tabs on their most important capital. Their IP.

Seriously. I'll even provide the link so I don't look like a EA bashing fanboy. Or something of that type.

I suppose they've gotten so used to owning so much stuff, they have to stop and think "Wait, Don't we own that?"

Holy crap... all you need to do is CTR-F for "System" and it turns up 0 results regarding System Shock. Did the guy who got the infringement notice bring that up?

Yeah, he mentioned it in his post when he announced that they'd stopped work on the mod. He never put up an argument with EA or anything. I thought it was pretty funny. You'd think that they would have something as important as System Shock up there. One of the most influential games in history.

I've mostly bought Bethesda games out of a constant sense of curiosity. Its odd especially when Bethesda's games all play so similarly but there are very small almost hidden details that sets each one apart. Also, I like to maintain collections that have proven to be decent if not excellent (which is why I don't collect FF games).

I can't understand how you can loathe something that does not effect you in any way. It's okay to hate EA if you worked for them and they laid you off. Don't see the point because you can just avoid their products. Always confused by these threads, did EA punch your girlfriend in the vagina when she was pregnant?
Im not sure who this is aimed at, but I think you might have replied to the wrong thread, this isnt a EA SUCKS thread.

I won't quit supporting a title because the publisher sucks. If I don't like the dev though, I have no interest in buying their product as I see it. To me, a developer is only as good as their product. Bad products = bad developer not the other way around. Which is why I have no inclination at all to buy a bad product. Even a bad developer can fall ass backwards into a good game.

I don't buy games from companies I hate. Sometimes it is hard to avoid though. I'm not a fan of EA but they've consumed so many companies it's nearly impossible to avoid them 100%. So I try to minimize the games I purchase from them. Kingdoms of Amulur is the last game I buy under EA for a very long time. I also don't buy from Bioware or Ubisoft anymore either.

I think the only companies I can actually say I like is Bethesda and CDProjekt.
