Internet only seems silly to me, but meeting someone online, then meeting them in real life is okay in my opinion.

Honestly? I have met some great people online... but I am always overly timid about actually meeting them for fear that they will be creapy, stalkers or something... I would still rather meet someone in real life... besides if I ever loose my awsome BF... I would just have to walk into a Gaming lounge or two and I'm sure I could find myself a nice gamer guy :)hehe

Wow, that's really cool. I love that the Escapist got to be the cause of that. I really agree that going out and searching for what should be natural is a mistake, too.

But really, it's not really a relationship if there's no physical contact. After awhile, words aren't just enough. You'll want to hug, hold hands, go out, etc.
sadly I know what you mean, wanting more then words and being so so SO close and yet so far, It hurts inside but I like the pain it makes me go after her more, and she likes it too even tho I can set impossible goals for myself sometimes,I even remember saying I'd walk to austin if I had to. :D Im going to see her this summer. wish me luck! :3

It's -OK- I don't believe I would, but... If you love someone you love them I suppose... Online or Off.

I met my current girlfriend online, we've been dating (exclusive) for more than a year now. We didn't meet on a dating site though, just on a community site which happens to be rather social. We found ourselves talking a lot, and really enjoying eachothers conversation and what not so we eventually decided to meet and now I couldn't be happier :)

I think people need to not just disregard a whole avenue for meeting people. Theres billions of people on the planet, you'll hopefully run into an amazingly compatible person at some point in your life. Whats the difference between randomly meeting them in real life as opposed to the internet? There really isnt one... its still just a random person you seem to jive with so why not take a chance? Good luck to everyone else with their dating... ness

I know as gamers that there are many of us on this forum who find the whole social interation thing awkward, so what does everyone think of internet dating? Would you date someone you met online? Would you join a dating website? And are there any single young guys from England??
Personally i would be very wary of those sites, but mainly because i got set up on a blind date by a mate where he gave her my MSN and she added, seemed lovely etc and when i actually met her she turned out to be an obese slag, kinda put me off the idea abit. Still, never say never hey.

Btw i'm 19 and live in England :D

Whilst I raise no objection to the use of slag, I do think obese is unfair. Unless, of course, you are totally shallow.

And, if you're interested, feel free to send me a message. I'll talk to anyone and everyone.

I think you can meet people (and make friends) online. But you can't become romantically involved until you meet them physically.

To me 'Internet Dating' is a bit of an oxymoron.
