I am a man who says it's manly. I don't remember ever seeing a woman drink it in real life. Also, if I'm right, it gets it's name from a (I think it was originally German) tradition in which the man of the house would award his son's first deer kill by mixing opium in the blood and having the son drink it. I don't if that's true or not but, if it is, that seems like a masculine activity to me. Also, that would explain the "hunting master" translation.

I've heard of people diluting rubbing alcohol for the purpose of getting completely wasted.
The fools. There's a wayyyyyyyy easier method to getting fucked up on rubbing alcohol than diluting it so you can drink it. Can't share it, though. I was sworn to only share it with other black irish.
Why? You could just drink Heaven Hill vodka. That stuff is pretty cheap and tastes like rubbing alcohol. Also, when I drink it, I mix it with Mountain Dew. It covers the taste rather well for those times that you want to drunk on the cheap. About $10 (that is for both the Heaven Hill and the Mountain Dew...you might actually have some change left over) and your wasted.

Manly or not, I refuse to drink anything that tastes the same going down as it will coming up. Disgusting. Give me a good whiskey, gin, or vodka, not whatever Jager is.

VERY manly. Why do I say this you ask?

A Long time ago, back when I played D&D, some guy named "Arturick", who had a thirst for Jagermeister and was one of the manliest men on the wizards of the coast boards, posted a hilariously funny transcript of a D&D session that was so stupidly inane that he got kicked out. If you like I could post it.

Ultimately the only "manly" drink is a beer.
Everything else is just not-as manly. It may be stronger, it may not, but it's still not the same... Also the beer is almost the only drink we have left, meaning you don't see many women drinking beer.

I find, personally, that Jäger tastes like piss and would much rather have a shot of fisherman or other liquorice-flavoured stuff if we're really going for shots of something.

How can it be "manly" if it's a candyDrink? It's all sugary n sweet.
Jaegermeister is as "manly" as a lollypop.

The name is VERY manly.
Jagermeister itself is a Bro/Frat drink in my experience... so not manly at all.

No, Whiskey is the manliest drink. To say otherwise deserves the removal of the man card.

Anyway, meh, I enjoy Jagermeister. It doesn't burn like whiskey does and it's not as pussy-tastic as Pucker is. It's the perfect balance, and by looking at yoru friends' votes, I'd say that is the most accurate term for it.

The only manly drink combination for me is scotch or some proper rum (not this malibu crap) & a decent cigar, bottoms up gentlemen..

Best ärgüment of the löt.

And I think "manliness" is about the manner in which you drink rather than the substance.

I'm a guy.

I happened to have tried Jäger again just recently for the first time since I was about 16. It tastes too sweet and syrupy - the kind of stuff you drink when you're not quite legally allowed to drink but you're just old enough to think that drinking is supercool. As far as a beverage can be considered manly I'd say that, on a scale of a Bacardi Breezer being least manly and black absinthe (160 proof please don't ever drink it) being the manliest, Jägermeister is leaning more towards the Breezer side of the scale.

Manly. Please refer to the '90s for more information on the subject.

Please elaborate. I am quite curious to find in which way partaking in the drinking itself is manly, or the manner in which one does such.

Jagermeister is manly. If others do not believe, they have not TRULY indulged.
I am a dude, not quite a man, but not quite a boy, I enjoy Bailey's, schnapps, Smirnoff and beer. [small] not all at once[/small]
