Some people's schools are nazi's. My elementary was strict. If you picked up snow you would get in trouble. My mother didn't want me to wear my kilt without underwear. The truth is is that I love my kilt and wear it any where public. Hell, once I wore it at the Mall of America. Although I didn't see it my father said a women with a purple mohawk gave me a funny look. Most people are blind to see that a Kilt is not a toga. A toga is white and isn't pleated and doesn't have a sporran or a belt.Zomni42 said:It's not that.. i just wouldn't feel personally comfortable w/o underwear. i was also just pointing out that specialized behaviors, such as wearing kilts and underwear are just that.. specialized. While i could wear a kilt regardless of ethnicity, it would be unusual in an environment in which it was not meant... i.e. where it is not at least semi-usual to see kilts or where kilts are only seen on certain occasions. It's not unusual to see kilts at a St. Patrick's day parade but it would be unusual(for me anyway) to see one at say... a school w/ a uniform that doesn't allow kilts.Darth Lexx said:You don't have to be celtic to wear Kilts. I'm a little bit Irish but I wear a checker like tartan. The way we bagpipe players and Kilt wearer's say that if you are wearing underwear you are wearing a skirt, but if going regimental then you are wearing a kilt. I only wear underwear if i'm going to school (obviosly would be imbarrasing if my lady friends would see my organs). But in public I have no Fear of going regimental.
Interesting. Considering that I have lived in Ireland my entire and never so much as seen a kilt dosn't matter?Jamanticus said:Was that a joke?Nimbus said:Yeah, Irish people wear kilts... The Irish and Scottish have been rather close throughout history, and yes, the Irish have kilts too.

How would you like the genuine scottish experience of having a claymore pushed through your left nostril and out of your ear canals? I assure you, it is distinctly agonising.Di22y said:I've no problem with men wearing skirts, whatever floats your boat.

Doesn't sound too appealing but i'll try anything once.Fondant said:How would you like the genuine scottish experience of having a claymore pushed through your left nostril and out of your ear canals? If you had even a basic understanding of history you would know how wrong you are. We invented the kilt!Nimbus said:Interesting.
