Neither, they'd want one who can multi-task. That way we can fantasise about celebrities WHILE deciding what to eat!

I can't help but say that there's been an other similar thread made by women for women.
But I'm not one to school you on this. Take a look here, if you need data: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.187131-Poll-What-kind-of-GUY-would-you-fall-for#5712614

Edit: you just gave me an idea for a thread!
WOW! There are a lot more girls on this site than I would have thought...there's like 6 pages of replies on that thread...good to see. Too many girls I know, even if they play games, wouldn't have enough of an interest to read sites like The Escapist. I salute thee ladies.

From what I see in my friends (I have three male friends and ALL the rest are girls), the insecure ones like the Manly men (the manly men that tend to be a-holes), the domineering ones tend to like the soft cutesy guys and the friends I'd call balanced...well they like the ones who can be all things to all women.

Most likely a good mix of both would be superior to specializing in either. At least that's what I'm going for and it seems to be working, though admittedly I'm better at being sweet.

Either way this is kinda pointless, the only secret bullet to attraction is confidence.

You know, people talk about how women want manly men and sweet men at the same time (and that this is an unrealistic expectation), but what guy is ALL manly or ALL sweet ALL the time? As a guy, don't you have sensitive moments AND assertive moments? It's only impossible to be both "kinds" of man if you're concealing part of yourself from her so you look "better" to her. Like, pretending to be stoic because you think she always wants her man to be strong. Besides, there aren't only two types of man to be.

Sure, there are women who have absurd expectations of men, but so what? Ditch those chicks and find the girls from this planet. And as for the claim that women are liars, well... So are a lot of guys. But yeah, I do agree that some women today tend to lie to THEMSELVES about what they want in a man/relationship. Again, maybe popular media and years of gender roles have instilled in them an idealized view of male/female relationships. Maybe they feel like they SHOULD want the more sensitive guy, but in reality are drawn to confident and powerful men. Perhaps they never learned to be honest about things like that.

Just some theorizing.

Did I tell you, you gave me a thread idea?
It's about girls matching the low shelf esteem stereotype gamer.
It may sound sexist, but I my only intent was to find out if only guys match the description.
Anyway, my thread probably won't work, and I won't get my answer, but it didn't hurt to try.

Ladies, do you want a malny man? Like the guys in old spice comercials, who has more swagger than James Bond and Frank Sintra.

Or do you want a guy that will tell you he loves you everday, and cook for you and be compassionate?
Speaking as a guy who gets his fair share of ladies, I can tell you that manly men and sweet guys are not mutually exclusive, nor should they be.

I'm tough enough to protect the house and the kids and her but sweet enough to romance her and never let her forget that she's loved. A guy who's gonna make it happen has to hit from both sides of the plate on that one.

Only in my experience, I'm not saying all manly men are a-holes, nor are all their girlfriends insecure...I know my best mate is married to a guy who is both manly and sweet and all that other crap, AND he hands my ass to me when we play multi-player, so we now play co-op! :-D (Oh he's one of the 3 mentioned above).

I don't think I'd have low self esteem. But then again who's going to admit to it...do gamers have low self-esteem? How do we judge self-esteem? I mean, I can be quite shy when I meet new people, I sometimes find it hard to hit on girls but that's mainly because I don't want to be annoying people who are just having a night out, but I dance like nobody's watching and really like myself and who I am...so if you're going down that route you need a question that's a criteria, so you won't be comparing apples and oranges...

There can a difference between what a person "goes for" and who they'd date. I mean you can be attracted to a manly man or think they are hot, but not want to date them. I suppose a more sentimental guy always seems better for a long term relationship.

Then again, I put other because the other options were a bit one-dimensional. I highly doubt there are guys who are pure "manly man" or purely "sweet".

Technically, women are attracted to the personalities of sweet guys but the pheromones of manly men. I personally will go for either or, but the idea of a sweet guy sounds really appealing to me at the moment. If sometimes we seem like we don't go for the sweet guys ever, it's because experience has taught us that the sweet ones are gay. Gay guys make great friends, but can't ever make a good boyfriend =/

.. excuse me as I sigh about knowing no sweet, straight guys.
Umm... sweet guys and manly men have the exact same pheromones. It's true that people exude different pheromones based on whether they're nervous or confident or whatnot, but if you consistently find one kind of guy more physically attractive it's not because of their smell.

I'm not a lady, but EVERY girl I have ever asked has said they dislike manly men, they like cute guys. I think it's just the sluts that like manly men. Why do you think James Bond gets laid so much?
Actually, "manly" men have more testosterone than the less manly men. Woman are biologoically attracted to the man with more testosterone (generally). This is why they always seem to get the girl.

I'm sorry, but women lie. 90% of woman you ask this question will say they prefer sweet guys, but in reality 90% of women are attracted to the manly man.
Very true, some of them may believe that they would infinitely prefer to be with a sensitive fellow, but they would instantly fall for a hunkish dick, were he to pay the slightest attention to them.

True, Women are great liars
...oh how these gentlemen speak the truth. I'd say they want a bit of both, but still go for the manly men.
