Brownies are a bit thicker than cake, and a lot sweeter...the ones I make anyway. There has to be some difference anyway. Considering chocolate cake is just "meh" to me but I love brownies. As far as them being dry, that's just about baking them right. Truly good brownies should be moist...and...more delicious than standard chocolate cake. You can even load them up with chocolate chips and..yeaa...

I'm gonna start drooling if I keep this up.
I love em. However...they don't hold a candle to ice cream cake. >.>

Brownies are good however I enjoy my own homemade chocolate cookies with white chocolate chips. Blow brownies right out of the water, especially a minute or two after taking them out of the oven. I just polished off a container I brought to college.

oh you mean this? Yeah, this is a pretty accurate account.

On the actual subject, I'm a cook. I make better brownies than you. Probably.

I don't get it, I often eat cake in square format as well. It's just easier to make, depending on what you are using to cook.

Brownies are pretty tasty. Much better than muffins.

Brownies are my favorite treat in the world. My personal favorite is chocolate brownies with peanut butter chips melting in them. I want brownies now.....

Dry brownies? That IS sad, but dunk them in milk for some improvement.
Still, you're clearly eating the wrong brownies, and I strongly advise you to seek out moister pastures.
"Pointless"? Well, most confectioneries are pointless. It doesn't make them any less wonderful, though. Now, if you'll excuse me...

You know there are sick fucks out there that think of mixing in weed with brownies?

I like weed as much as the next man, but adulterating the sweet succulent taste of such divine chocolate stodgy heaven... that just ain't right.

I suggest you make your own browning, not the crappy brownies made by stoners who are more interested in getting high than making REAL brownies. They should be stodgy yet firm with a crispy caramelised crust.
Hey hey hey now... some of us happen to think that mixing the sweet succulent taste of brownie with the sweet succulent taste of weed is a brilliant idea. You're automatically curing your munchies as you're getting high, and it gets you more baked than the brownies themselves.
As good as weed is, you got to admit it IS stinky.

You know, it just doesn't really go together. Herbs and Pastry? Why not cannabis Natcho sauce?

Brandy Coke and brownies, now that's something. God damn you've made me all hungry.

I love brownies, especially the chewy edge bits. For me brownies beat most conventional cakes but I'm a big fan of ice cream and jello cake (that's ice cream cake and jello cake not a cake made with both ice cream and jello, i can only dream of such a thing)

You need to find a good recipe, that doesn't overcook them. Also, store them at room temp. They dry faster in the fridge.

As a last resort, stick a crust of bread in the pan with them. The Brownies will draw the moisture from the bread, leaving it hard, while they stay soft. Works great with cookies too.

Another fun way to do brownies is to get one of those special 'every piece is an edge piece' pans for baking. I dig me some edge pieces.
Finally, someone who understands that the best bits are on the edge! I need one of those pans.
now i want brownies...

Please.Continue!

OT:I like my brownies dry outside and moist inside.I don't like the icing on cake.Whipped cream makes a better substitute.
... And so deliciously moist, with thick chocolate icing. I know what I'm going to be doing tomorrow. ^^

Note to self: Do not multi-task commenting on chocolate based threads and watching yuri. >.>

Brownies are great, but I usually need a glass of milk to eat them. Whipped cream is strongly advised as well.

brownies are freaking delicious,
if made right it should be moister than cake...and potentially better than cake.
