only once was I able to actually know what was going on and have a good amount of control of my dream. I could run around where I wanted to and everything, but there was one problem... I was being chased by some giant ghoulish monster thing. and I had no time to stop or
I would be eaten alive. The dream ended with me hiding in small with a huge thick door that I locked, and there was a small hole in the wall that I could look out. Last thing that happened was for some reason my dream decided to go 3rd person and the view went out of the room I was in which outside this little room the place was huge. Then the view was fixed on the entrance to the hallway the ghoul was coming out of. Last thing I saw before waking up was his shadow slowly popping into view on the wall. Lol I think the ghoul was glowing green as well.

Heres a tip when lucid dreaming: avoid mirrors, if you look at your reflection while in a dream theres a big chance that it will turn into a nightmare

i've had a few, when i was 12 i had a very vivid one were i was being chased by a pitch black figure with glowing white eyes, at one point i realised i was dreaming, i turned to face the figure who was running at me with a kind of knife thing and said to hi, 'ha ha, this is a dream, goodby!' and woke up. For some reason i was really proud of my self for showing that guy whos boss

I always know that I'm dreaming, but i don't consider those as lucid dreams.
People say to me that it's lucid dream when you can go where ever you like and do whatever you want. Some say that you can go out of your body and see all the world while being asleep. I have never had those, so no, i have not had those lucid dreams.

I have never paid attention to that, but it seems to be true. There was a dream where i was just living my ordinary life and doing the same thing I do everyday and then i looked in the mirror and noticed that my brothers and sisters ayes were red. I turned around i said that that was just a dream and that i'm going to open my ayes, then i ''opened'' my ayes, but everything changed colors and nothing changed. I was so scared. I thought that they were some kind of monsters or something.

I've had several, apparently it can be related to not getting enough sleep, which would seem consistent with my lucid dreaming. I quite enjoy them.

I have somewhat lucid dreams most nights, the only problem is that as soon a I realize I'm asleep, I wake up involuntarily. I know, for a split secod htat I can do anything, but then I'm awake again. Annoys me.

You are referring to Out of Body Experiences(OBEs). I have had one or two of them. It usually when I am in a hypnagogic state. I can see through my eyelids while I am sleeping and travel around my room.

Just another tip for any wanting to become and Oneironaut. Your success rate of remembering dreams is the important part. Learning to this is what takes time, not the actual achievement of lucidity. Most everyone has had a lucid dream in their lifetime, it's just they can't remember. Watching televison or playing games directly before going to sleep affects your dreams by making them less tangible. They become messy and random.

Before you go to bed, turn off the Tv and read for an hour or something to stimulate your mind in the right way. You'll find your dreams to be more pleasant. Trust me lucid dreaming can be extremely enlightening so it's worth learning about.

it is said that dreams often happen at dawn;
You are correct! You're melatonin levels are much higher after sleeping for a few hours. It's related to the sun in some way. Set your alarm to wake up around dawn, then get up and walk around for a bit and go back to bed. Concentrate on wanting to lucid dream and nothing else. Picture yourself becoming lucid in a dream. The success rate from studies is extremely high with this method, known as MILD.

There has been one or two occasions when i've kind of realised i was in a dream. It's a strange feeling, the only thing i can remember is walking along a road, then deciding i wanted to fly instead, with varying levels of success (i'd keep losing the ability but being able to regain it as i went), it got to the point where i knew it was a dream and if i wanted to i could.

It's quite an interesting concept, who knows with improvements in technique and technology it might one day be possible to initiate lucid dreams at will, although if you can decide what happens is there much point in living in the real world?

Yeah, and I remember thinking "wow it's amazing, it's so detailed and realistic o_O".

Then again, I often feel like the sky has been photoshopped when I look outside the window, so I'm not the best to judge :)

I have one every couple of weeks now. I also get weekily prophetic dreams, that is to say, I dream specific events and they then happen in real life. I also dream in color.

There is technology being used already to initiate them. It uses a series of flashing lights that just permeate through your eyelids while you sleep, letting you know you're dreaming.

You'll find you are alot happier with the real world when you lucid dream. It can be extremely insightful in relation to waking life. Dreaming is like talking to your consciousness so you don't know what you might discover.

Also there have been reports of people extending time in their dreams, and living for what feels like a week in the dream world, only to wake up and find they've been asleep for 8-9 hours. The possibilities are, as I said, endless.

I'm pretty sure I pinched or slapped myself and started to freak out when that didn't work. Then too many things start to activate and I end up waking up.
