GNU/Linux because its far more secure than a windows machine.
My goal is to learn how to create and compile a custom linux install from scratch, because I'm sure it would be a great skill to have going into the network security field. I also like it because you can tinker and learn how the internals work. and once you get comfortable with it, you can do a lot of tasks quickly with linux because there are a ton of shortcuts. with windows, or a solely GUI OS it takes the same number of clicks to do the same thing. every time.
though i do use windows a lot, primarily for gaming though.
