Soldier but I switched to Vanguard by the end of Eden Prime because it was so boring.

I played as a vanguard in ME1 and I'm doing it again. Although the infiltrator's new ability to cloak and use SMGs makes me want to try playing as one.

Engineer, purely because I played that the first time around and enjoy the continuity. Why engineer the first time around? Because you expect a Soldier to kick butt. But an engineer...

While I loved the vanguard class from ME1, I'm not sure that the new "charge" move is for me... the one thing I didn't enjoy about playing it through the first time was how little damage you could take in combat.. it didnt take much for enemies to reduce my shields to nothing in a firefight, often while I was moving towards cover, and my ability to react to fast moving enemies was severely limited in some environments. What made it easier was unlocking other weapons such as the sniper rifle and the assault rifle.
I had pretty much the exact opposite problem as a Vanguard. With Shock Trooper specialization and Colossus X armor, I was unkillable. Nothing except Geth Colossus' attacks could even damage me honestly. My only problem in Insanity was the Mako being less survivable than my actual character is, which is fucking retarded.

I loved playing as a soldier in the first game especialy the final battles on theado i think its going to have to be a killer psycho rifle *****, but then the infiltrator will suit my character one heck of a lot more, its just that i never ever use magic or sneaking around if I can help it, but then i tried a female character and then it seemed realy odd that she was such a gun slinger. so i'm undecided

Soldier.

I perfer uncomplicated gun-fights to the use of biotics or tech, if I wanted those things, that's what my squadmates are for.

Well, since I'm planning on having only Tali and Garrus on my side, I might consider swicthing to Vanguard, assuming in ME2, I'll get to use Heavy Armor this time.

Have they stated if we can carry over those unlocked abilities to the new game? Because if we don't I think I might go with soldier this time out.
They're using a form of plot-convenient forgetfulness so that players can pick new classes and it still make sense that Shepard has completely re-specialised. Unfortunately this means that none of your skills will be carried over.

Personally I think that the Vanguard's charge is all kinds of awesome, maybe because I've been playing lots of Demo-knight in TF2, and can't wait to pick it up again where I left off.
Will they also be carrying over backstory from the first game? Like for example, if you were a survivor on Akuze, will that be brought back up?

I don't get why the soldier is so popular with everyone. It easily looks like the most boring class.

Infiltrator/Adept for me.

The English? I didn't realise that was an option, then again with Miranda being 'the Aus' I guess they'd have English as well...

(now that I think about it Aussie characters are becoming an increasing poular trend at the mo - why is that?)

What special abilities does the English have? Actually don't answer that, the stereotype flood gates need not be opened.

.
Anyways I'm torn between Vanguard and Infiltrator. Psychic Tomfoolery & Shotguns VS Hacking Bots, Invisibilty & Sniping. Hmmm...

I love jumping into the fray, so I think I'll continue to be a shotgun wielding stud AKA Vanguard, or maybe the Sentinel so I can combine tech and biotic abilities in one nice package... of death and butterflies, but mostly death.

I think I'm going to go with the Infiltrator class this time. Cloaking + Sniper Rifles = Awesome.

Yeah, anything like that will be brought over, they just couldn't bring over the actual skills.

The Engineer. It has all the things I like in a class; a combat drone to harass enemies, powers to support your teammates, and if it's anything like the ?Engineer in Mass Effect, additional Medic abilities.
