Time for another WRPGs-versus-JRPGs thread. Specifically: if you had to choose between Mass Effect 2 and Final Fantasy XIII, which would you pick? And why?

Okay, go.

Versus threads are bad, m'kay?

I'll humor you though. I'd say ME2, but then I'm just more of a fan of ME than FF.

The influx of versus threads with almost zero discussion is getting interesting.
OT: Mass Effect, as I'm loving the first one, and I haven't liked a Final Fantasy game with a number since 6.

Neither. I've never played Mass Effect, and I'm more of an SMT guy than a FF guy.

So simple, Mass Effect all the way.

Sorry, but I just loved the first, and it lies in my heart.

So... an improved sequel to an awesome game... Or the 13th game in the series that is famous for boring random encounter fights, grinding levels and overemotional characters.

If I wanted to play a good RPG, I'd take Mass Effect 2... or another Shin Megami Tensei game.

Final Fantasy XIII. The gameplay looks really interesting, and it's got a guy with a baby Chocobo LIVING IN HIS HAIR. By the way, this hair isn't some crazy spiky hairdo, but it's an AFRO. That is all kinds of awesome.

I said FFXIII as I've never played Mass Effect. But it seems to be it's on par with 13. I might have to give this game a looksee.

All i see in the above poll is "Mass Effect 2", "Bla Bla Bla XIII" and "Neither"
Common... it's not even a fair competition. It's like bringing knives to a shootout...

Why is there no both option? I for one am certainly planning on buying both and I wouldn't want to choose one or the other.
